I know, but with beterbeiv, mekhontsev, gvodsyk, hooper, callum smith, coming through added to Adonis and kovalev and with joe ward and julio de la cruz in the amateurs (two of the three best light heavyweight amateurs of the last ten years) who will probebly turn over, in 2-4 year 175 wil he the hottest division in boxing

I mean look at 168 when calzaghe dominated it for 10 years the whole time it was called one of the weakest divisons in boxing, ward beats calzaghes leftovers and suddenly the division is one of the hottest in boxing, I mean a guy joe beat 8 years ago when the division was 'weak' is now currently holding a belt in a strong era lmfao

And now middleweight is weak, tbh middleweight has more strength in depth than 168

Hard for me to rate an AM like Cesar le Cruz simply based off his AMs wins. Yeah he beat a broad spectrum of styles thru his Am career, but he might have the curse.

Ward????? He's signing with Haymon. Is what it is? So he might never fight again for all we know.

Beterbiev is being brought along fast, and if he makes the Cloud fight, and wins, he'll obviously be placed high in the rankings. But this Sanchez kid is only 23, and he's beating solid veterans and fringe contenders like nothing.

Also, watch the kid. He doesnt have any fundamental flaws. He's decpetively quick like Kovalev is, deceptively powerful, is HUGE, and takes one helluva good shot, not that he's irresponsible defensively. :think

He hasn't shown any flaws yet becUse he hasn't been in with anyone good enough for flaws to show. Iv a feeling he will be very susceptible to body punches and will be out boxed

Beterbeiv beats him because of his power, technical ability and pressure he will overwhelm him and brutalise him same as kovalev would

Joe Ward beats him because his got power and is a serious body puncher and is incredibly hard to hit clean with any thing decent

And cruz beats him becUse I don't think his skilled enough to land a glove on him, that's not an insult it's just near impossible to hit him , his the most naturally gifted defensive fighter Iv seen

Kovalev’s knockout victory secured a highly anticipated light heavyweight championship unification fight against Bernard Hopkins. Kovalev (25-0-1, 23 KOs) and Hopkins (55-6-2, 32 KOs, 2 NC) have agreed to terms on a deal that’ll pay the legendary Hopkins two-thirds of the available purse money -

Hopkins gets two-thirds of the available purse money..............................

It's Stevenson's fault. Stevenson is a piece of fecal matter and priced himself out of the fight, not to mention the lawsuit.....................remember, Stevenson ran from Kovalev..........................

Taylors accomplishments? He had a win over Hopkins where Taylor was hurt and many felt Hopkins won. Thats the accomplishment, because after that it was a nothing performance against a LMW, a draw with another LMW that some felt he lost, a SD win to a former WW/LMW, where some felt he lost and a loss to Pavlik. Before Hopkins he hadnt much of note.
Kovalev has an overall better resume with undefeated cleverly and Campillo.
Are you shocked when you look at what Taylor was doing between Hopkins and Pavlik that he lost to Pavlik?

You may well be right. But history has told us again and again not to sell BHop short.

Farmy, do you give Hopkins credit for wanting to fight Kovalev? As you say, Stevenson ran. Hopkins actually wanted to fight him. What do you think?

how do you duck someone when you actually fight them when you're 43 years old? this is one of the big calzaghe lies you see on these boards. he's going to step in the ring with kovalev 2 months from his 50th bday but he was scared of joe in 2002?

    other joe lies i see:

    1. he defeated chris byrd as an amateur. (they never fought)
    2. joe was cheated out of the olympics by his own country
    3. he only had 1 amateur loss and the opponent's dad was the ref in the fight (joe had a 110-10 record) here's the vid of joe's loss to smyth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm7qcmu7UvQ
    4. joe was the linear light heavy champ but roy jones wasn't (linear means line, the line went from jones to tarver, johnson, tarver, hopkins, calzaghe - either they're both linear or they're not)

why all the lies calzaghe fans? joe was a damn good fighter. no need to embellish.

as far as the fight goes, it's amazing what bhop has done in his 40s but his record in that stretch is only 10-4-1 and 1 NC. taylor x2, calzaghe and dawson were the losses (pascal had a title defense vs bhop). kovalev is a more dangerous opponents than all of those other guys. i like kovalev by mid-round stoppage or possibly by DQ. hopkins will make this as ugly as possible.
