    Froch- Kessler,Bute,Abraham,Pascal,Taylor

    Calzaghe- Kessler,Lacy,Reid,Eubank,Bika

    Ward - Dawson,Froch,Kessler,Bika,Abraham,Greene

    Jones- Toney,Malinga,Eric Lucas,Vinny Pazienza,SOSA

    Benn- Mclellan, Malinga,Eubank,Warton

    Toney -Nunn, Williams,Little,Barkley

I think Ward/Froch have the best resume but I think Jones is the best SMW ever
    Ward 2nd Froch/Joe 3rd

    Jones
    Calzaghe
    Toney
    Ward
    Froch
    Benn

    In h2h ranking.

But clearly Calzaghe had the best resume in the SMW

Benn was my fav fighter growing up before Lewis Naz and Hatton.
If Benn is on the list what about Eubank?

Shame Benn, Eubank, Tony and jones didn't mix it up, I remember a tv show where Tony came on a link to where Eubank and Benn were guests and he wouldn't even acknowledge Eubank or his title.

Jones was the best fighter in my opinion
Ward possibly has the best wins

mmm calzaghe has one of the weakest ones there, hes famous for having a rather weak resume compared to his great longevity. 'never did anything great' is the phrase used about his HoF entry.

ward probably, seeing as hes fought at a high level AND won comfortably and his stock is likely to only increase since its early days.

froch and eubank have a hand in the runnings.

jones would be if he'd stayed at smw.

Calzaghe has two noteworthy wins, Kessler and Lacy.

exactly, he shouda been lacying and kesslering from day 1, not starting it on day 3000. very poor showing for a titlist. although to put that in perspective, it was the least important of the titles so you have to figure in weak opponents for that.

the win over BHop means much more than the win over lacy.
the lacy win seemd big at the time as he was gonna come and destroy him, like Gman v Benn

no no Gman was in a different class to Kessler, the G was destroying top men whilst Kessler lost to the best he fought aand only looked good against middling opps.

but I agree at the time Kess was unified champ whilst Joe was the long term minor title holder, so you'd expect mikkey to win.

This thread is about his resume at Super Middleweight(where he apparently dominated).

It's true that Lacy was supposed to beat him but the odds on fight night were close to even. It was embarrassing for someone with 40 fights to celebrate unrealistically for beating someone with 21 fights.

your forgetting Eubank (still a top fighter and joe beat the **** out of him)

Robin Reid(former champ, had a razor close fight with malinga, and even 5 years after the fight was still good enough to destroy ottke)

Eubank was past it, semi retired, coming off two losses to Collins and exhibition fights overseas. That's hardly a win worth considering. It's like saying Calzaghe's win over RJJ meant something.

Reid is a decent fighter but he's not one worth mentioning compared to who the rest on the list have beaten.
