Whatever your take on Ali's physical condition in the Holmes fight,anyone with just a modicum of boxing knowledge or simple intelligence should be able to deduct that Ali was shot and merely a shell of the fighter he'd once been. I've absolutely no problem with anyone having the opinion that prime Holmes beats prime Ali because for me Larry Holmes was a great champion and although I'd favour Ali it's a perfectly reasonable opinion to have. However for some to state that Ali was even remotely close to prime in that fight shows they simply have an agenda or simply have **** for brains.

ali beat a prime norton in the 2nd fight in 74 more decisively then what holmes did to a past prime norton in 78.......seriouasly dude crack is whack
Not true. Larry decisively won the Norton fight, it really shouldn't have even come done to the last round. Norton arguably beat Ali all three times including the second fight, that they gave it to Ali just because it was a close.

I believe both fights were close, but Ali & Holmes eked out victories vs. Norton. There was no significant diference in how well they did. Now Norton was at least a little better against Ali. Ali past prime but still great, Homles approaching his prime. Given how relatively good each fighter was & where Norton was, though Ali was troubled by his style, I would say Ali did better just considering those fights. Ali pre-exile with the additional speed does better. more like 10 rounds to 5. The foot speed especially would make a difference.
