Calzaghe didnt wait, it was Hopkins who backed out of facing Calzaghe years previous. Why do you deny this? Oh Flying the flag.

In answer to the thread question. It wouldnt be a bad win by any stretch as Hopkins has just beaten a couple of top 10 rated LHWs

    can't sleep, huh?
I've already explained why coming to the US is a precursor to getting big fights
calzaghe talked up jones and Hopkins for years, but when they both started to fade he dropped wa+ren (who has never been interested in taking any of his fighters onto the big stage), and look what happened...

Cant sleep. Dont want to at 16:36 in the afternoon.
Calzaghe made offers. I understand Jones decided to go after a HW title, but Hopkins backed out.
    Why deny this?
    You are in denial

    Hopkins

and like i keep saying to you, if you want big fights go to the US
    calzaghe didn't - nothing happened

jones and Hopkins lost - calzaghe dropped war+en, went to the US, and made both fights

As you can see from the parts I sent. He agreed to go to the States to Once again you are flying the flag. Calzaghe didnt need America to become the best SMW ever with greatest SMW resume and that bugs a flag flier like yourself for some reason.

Look at the fact that Calzaghe agreed to go to America to face Hopkins. then didnt go to America until Hopkins agreed, so he didnt need to go to America to make that fight

    Come on B.

T'was a 3 fight deal that was rejected. That is a relevant circumstance, no?

Did Hopkins also back out of fighting Hakkar for a career high payday?

its not about flying the flag, its about common sense
this should test you as a "fan of boxing"...rather than "the fighter"

    What common sense?

    So what is your point?
Calzaghe was a SMW. He offered a fight to Hopkins in America, but Hopkins turned it down to fight for less.
Why should Calzaghe have gone to America? To get a fight with what top American SMW?
You forget also that Calzaghe was champ

calzaghe was champ, but he didn't have the notoriety and reputation that Bernard Hopkins or roy jones had
and it took both to lose their mantle before calzaghe fought both and then proclaimed himself a "great fighter"

People will say it's a good win now but if he does win after they'll say he's old et cetera. He won't get much credit for it, that's for sure.
