you are a complete buffon kid, foreman did hit harder than liston and the facts showed it, you can talk your **** blablabla like a parrot for years, still it will not change the facts. foreman could not even put his body weight in his shots AND STILL HE DID PUT TO FLY GUYS WHO WEIGHED MORE THAN PRIME LISTON, AND SONNY NEVER DID ANYTHING SIMILAR EXCEPT VS THE FRAGILE 188 POUNDER PATTERSON. and you have absolutely no proof except words to say that shavers was the hardest hitter ever.. and i don´t believe it, i think that if they did hit with his very best shot in a heavy bag.. foreman did hit harder, and i suspect that not just foreman did hit harder than shavers...i believe that lennox lewis, wladimir klitschko ,david tua and a few guys more too

the hitting power of earnie shavers is a myth, sure that he could hit hard, but it is not supported with measure, it is all based on words... a myth...

shavers hit harder than all of them his gloves imploded in a fight before due to his punching power. you have no proof they hit harder, foreman hit harder than those 4 men and ali, norton, and holmes said shavers was the hardest hitter out of all of them. wepner also said liston hit harder than foreman and so did ali.

The general consensus always seems to be between the likes of Foreman and Shavers but with so many giant hard hitting heavyweights especially in the more modern era, its really all just a matter of opinion. Evander Holyfield said Riddick Bowe was the biggest puncher he ever fought yet does anyone ever think of Bowe as being a really big puncher up there with the likes of Foreman? Then you have the likes of Lennox Lewis's right hand, Razor Ruddock's left hook/uppercut, David Tua and Gerry Cooney's left hook. The lists seems endless.

Looking backward in the other direction, you have guys like Max Baer and Curtis Sheppard.

impossible to measure and compare the punching power of heavies past and present and its a bit of a moot point anyway as they could pretty much all knock a wall down, but who was good at landing with their best shots regularly with accuracy against good opposition? that's what separates the good from the great when it comes to ko artists.
Tyson was good at it, so was foreman, shavers, Louis.
Fighters like klitchko, lennox lewis, Riddick bowe probably hit just as hard give or take but not as early in a fight or as consistently.
I think temperament play a big part too. full commitment to a shot is risky and some fighters are more risk averse than others

when was foreman prime to you? and liston hit harder than marciano and baer. a case can be made he hit is the hardest hitter and out of those 4, shavers hit harder than any of them.

Well you can call him a buffon but probably have to sit quiet with Chuck Wepner who was a catcher of both of their punches. He says that the old Liston he fought hit harder then the young big George. An interesting side note is that Patterson said Ingo hit harder then Liston by comparison.

The hardest hitter of all time, almost certainly never held the title!
