ESPN2 FNF: Willie Nelson vs. Luis Grajeda RBR

Norbert Nemesapati vs. Jason Escalera, 8 rounds @ super middleweight

 

To be fair he was not wrong about either of his talking (read: sputtering) points this time - namely, the wideness of the cards in Vargas vs. Novikov and the officiating in Chaves vs. Rios - but then again, his viewpoints on those are pretty much shared already by every boxing fan anyway. So really it was just an opportunity to mug in front of the camera and soapbox and be tickled by the sound of his own voice.

 

Round 1

Nemesapati runs out and rocks Escalera with big hooks. Nemesapati is pushing Escalera back and throwing a high 1-2 on the forehead and left and right hooks into either temple. Escalera is backing away into the ropes and tying Nemesapati up when he comes in swinging. Escalera pops a right hand over the top and digs a couple of left hooks on the body. Nemesapati is jogging side to side and jabbing. Chopping right by Escalera catches Nemesapati hopping in place with his gloves down. Double left hook swung high up top by Escalera, bracing himself on Nemesapati with his right arm while compassing around him. Big left hook by Nemesapati breaking out of a clinch.

10-9 Nemesapati

 

14-0 (13) vs. 14-2 (12) - and that's real power in both their cases, not totally padded.
