Lampley and Roy Jones and Lampley and Andre Ward are great. Ward and Jones see the subtle things boxers are doing and describe them well to the casual fan. Lampley brings a sense of excitement and urgency to his fight broadcasts. He has a terrific voice and sees things in the ring that most laymen don't. Not like Jones or Ward but good for a non-boxer.
Hes in the discussion. So are Al, and Roy Jones, imo. And actually I think Andre Ward is pretty good too, to be honest. Al Roy Ward Malignaggi Even tarver was pretty good. Not really that high on anyone else..... though for nostalgia reasons I like Jim Lampley too atsch
Malignaggi is the best boxing commentator I've heard. The likes of RJJ, Ward, Jacobs et al don't come close.
Paulie indeed is sharp/funny and spot-on. I won't say he's the best commentator out there, but I like him.
Wouldn't that be amazing haha Malignaggi should just go into crazy mode one time, in his NY mafia accent: "What do you mean I'm funny? Do I ****in' amuse you? Do I look like a ****in' clown to you? What the **** do you mean I'm funny???" :rofl
I've met Paulie on several occassions the guy is humble easy to talk to and extremely knowledgable. I enjoy listening to him in the booth though I'd agree he can lean towards certain fighters at times. He'll naturally fade away from revealing any sort of biased in due time....I agree he's one of the best currently.
someone once said he sounds like a character from Heathcliff. I wasn't familiar with the cartoon, but I just randomly stumbled upon it and I have to say - it's DEAD ON, lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj9Y36tWdJ0
