Great debate. My two pence worth: RJJ was the best athlete with extraordinary physical attributes but does this mean he had the best boxing skills? His resume was pretty good considering how boxing politics often prevents the best fights. Joe C had similar attributes with amazing stamina that meant he outworked Bhop but did not out skill or out box him. Ward may have it all but time will tell. He is extremely disciplined and dedicates himself every day to learn the art of boxing. This is why Bhopal is so dangerous to any other fighter. He has cared for his body like a temple and so at nearly 50 probably has a 35 year old body! But he also has all the experience that by the time most people have accumulated it; they are then being let down by their body that they may have abused. He truly is an inspiration and like Archie Moore decided to refuse to let age control him. He is simply a guru on how to control your environment to best suit you. He is also a real thinker with a true curiosity to learn. I would love to meet him! Imagine a fight between him and THE JAmes TOney who was blessed, like Mike TYson, with huge amounts of natural ability to simply fight. Sadly he was too frequently the polar opposite of Bhop in terms of living the life of a monk like boxer. If he had Bhop or HOlyfield's discipline and dedication, which was all in the mind, then He would have been difficult to beat although he did not have the fleetest of fleet which is part of the reason RJJ beat him. I suspect the best boxers would always fight the best if the money was right. they are natural born competitors and would not be able to resist the challenge whatever the outcome. Boxers, more than pretty much any other person, has to believe that they are the best. Too much doubt might help them train hard but can make them hesitate and second guess them self during the actual fight. Resume: Froch and Ward are pretty good. So is Benn and Joe C Toney fought anyone even when his training camp was the local Burger king and although it is frustrating how he wasted his talent it is still amazing how well he did when so underprepared.
