I don't think it's like fighting darren barker after a hip op, Woodhall was obviously much better than barker, and also Woodhall was plagued by injuries throughout his career, not just for the calzaghe fight, and some of his best achievements were after the injuries.

I think you need to watch it again. Some of his fights were stopped prematurely, but that was not one of them. He was wobbling and stumbling all over the place. There was no slip, he stumbled into the corner because his legs had gone

Wards best win is a faded Calzaghe opponent, and even if Calzaghe didnt have prime undefeated Kessler on his resume, it would still be far greater than Wards

Mitchell had just knocked joe clean down and was walking through joes punches, and only backed off for 5 seconds. That's why the Wassen ref took the opportunity to stop it before Joe got floored again.

I certainly saw the way Joe turned to the ref as if to motion him to stop the fight when his weak punches weren't working on Byron.

I think you and I just rate Toney differently. And as you mentioned earlier he did have some close fights that went his way, he also had some close fights that he could have got the nod but didn't. I was very impressed with him at MW where he beat some great fighters, and he looked great to me at SMW before fighting Roy. For that I considered him a proven. fighter. It was also the way Roy beat him, I still have not seen him whipped that dramatically.

I also liked that he got his career back on track somewhat and was successful at higher weights. That is what seperates him from the Taylors and Kelly Pavliks IMO.. Like you said, he did fail drug tests, and I understand why you would take issue with that. But he also had a tremendous ammount of skill, which I give him credit for that.

Quite true, Bhop wasn't a SMW.
In my excitement I almost see the middleweights and supers as crossing over. Having said that the extra poundage might have been one of the reasons Toney looked so sublime when he stepped up in weight against Iran Barkley whilst still middleweight IBF champion.
As for your comment about not knowing the SMW division; I suppose we are all entitled to our opinion however well founded or not.
