Ok ,I'll bite .Dempsey beats him like a drum. He does better than Folley, and Ellis none of whom were big punchers and both of whom dropped Bonavena. He drops him and keeps him there.

Dempsey would utterly destroy the "Baby Bull of the Pampas."

Well.. I think that bonavena had a good chance vs dempsey.. He was not just much better than the archaic firpo(who did put the ass of dempsey out of the ring) but he was faster than firpo and stronger than both.. Firpo and dempsey, with a very sturdy chin, joe frazier could not stop bonavena so dempsey is not stopping him. Frazier was better, bigger and stronger than dempsey. And did hit as hard if not harder.

ali for example was not a big puncher and he dropped tons of guys, he dropped foreman and norton or frazier culd not do it. Frank bruno did hit clearly harder than holyfield and bruno could not hurt tyson like evander did. It proves nothing. Styles my friend.. Styles...

This would be fitting for the main event at BKB fights.

Like h_hs said, it's all about styles and Dempsey has the right style for Bonavena. Dempsey by KO in 3 or 4.

I don't think he was better or stronger despite being bigger and they punched very differently. Dempsey hit like a brick with both hands at his best while Joe had heavy hands which usually took a beat down to stop his opponent, like in Quarry 1. Ellis, Folley, and Ali all dropped Oscar and the far past it Patterson stunned him well with a left hook. Joes cumulated punches just didn't affect Ringo that way but Jack's one punch ko ability would have. Oscar would have been a mess.

Dempsey was the much bigger and faster puncher ... Ringo would pull that dirty fighting crap against the wrong guy. Jack was a nasty guy inside the ring. I see him punching Oscars lights out.

Dempsey was taller & longer, Ringo was much heavier & more muscle.

I believe Frazier & Dempsey had around the same power.
Dempsey & his ferocity would win, not sure if Bonavena could last the distance.
Odds are against it, but if another great & peak swarmer like Frazier could not take him out, maybe Dempsey would not.

The underlined should not be plural ,it should read a heavy hand .As in left hook which, as you state he ground men down with.

Joe threw both hands to the body in short uppercuts and hooks, agreed he didn't throw the right hand to the head very often.
