In his title reign his opposition has been weak, I think its pointless to say otherwise. holmes had the same problem but to a lesser degree.
neither ducked the best of their eras but there was no real depth in the divisions.

klitchko is one of the classiest people ive seen in recent years, in terms of his personality and how he conducts himself. Great to see.

And coming back like he did to rule the world after those shocking losses to old tomato cans (no disrespect intended) was an example to everyone.

but its hard to compare him to the all time great heavies.

Its hard to watch those losses to extremely average opposition and not question the quality of klitchko as a package.

There have been good men as big as klitchko in the sport all along dating back to the giant jess Willard, but size alone has never guaranteed results, and some fighters really specialize in taking out tall fighters.

and its hard to imagine that big lumbering, chin high up style standing a chance against the sharp, loose, powerpuching styles of the likes of holmes and liston.

klitchkos style is considered boring by most and its hard to argue.

its difficult watching a heavyweight champion with every physical advantage possible, boxing super cautiously for round after round, pecking away until the little opponent gets worn down. effective? yes. pleasing to boxing fans? no, and also not in keeping with the spirit of bravery and flair which the greats always brought.
Can you get great by playing it safe?

I like him hes been great for boxing and hes an inspiration, but to me its hard to call him great.
