Does the word "TBE" really fits for Floyd Mayweather?

“Ali was a great fighter, but I’m better. [Sugar Ray] Robinson was a great fighter, but I’m better,” Mayweather told HBO’s cameras on 24/7 in building the hype machine for the May 1, 2010 Mayweather-Shane Mosley fight.

As far as skillset Mayweather may very well be "TBE" as far as resume I don't think there's anybody he could legitimately fight to make people not backtrack there prefight statements so imo its not really about the names more so the accomplishments an if he gets a MW Title more accurately the Lineal Title a very good arguement can be made that he is the best or one of the best ever.

When you get to the point that fighting champs isn't good enough your on a different level

After retirement, Floyd will be lucky to rank top 100. Cant really get very high historically speaking without fighting your primary rivals at your weight.

Of course he's not the greatest ever, even his Uncle Roger and his father admitted that. He's a top 30 guy, which is nothing to frown upon.

Doesnt matter, not fighting the best your division and era has to offer puts him below the top echelon of almost every division in every other era. Dont need to name them.

Floyd was great coming up. His last few years are smoke, marketing and mirrors. You and the rest of his fans just have to deal with it.

PCHBTBE = Potentially Could Have Been The Best Ever

You can NOT deny those Skills, Ring IQ, Speed, Stamina, Defense, and Hardwork/Dedication.

However, without fighting the absolute best in every weight class he's won a title in....I have to honestly label him as Potentially Could Have Been.

All the folks he's ducked or didn't fight, I believe he would have won all but the excuses he's used to not fight them....ouch, Hurt!

    :deal

Floyd chose not to go the Legacy route. It is what it is. He has his money so I doubt he cares to be honest.

I don't have to deal with anything all of the guys he's fought have been top 3 in the division over the last few years.:deal Just because you say they're not worthy doesn't mean anything. The man is 46-0 P4P #1 undefeated in 3 different decades and a top 25 ATG right now if he finishes his career 50-0 or 49-0 he'll be a top 15 ATG.

Just because you say they are worth something does mean anything either.

P4P in this day and age is pretty silly, and just a bunch of subjective opinion. Not hard to be "p4p#1" when you have the marketing, and are fighting in an era where the best do not routinely fight the best in almost any weight division. Not hard relatively speaking that is, compared to prior boxing eras. Its still an accomplishment but we are talking All Time here, not top 25 of the past 20 years.

No way he finishes close to top 25 unless he beats like Manny, Lara or non-drained to death Alvarez and Golovkin or equivalent in the next couple years. That *might* get him a seat at the table with actual ATG Boxing Immortals. Maybe.
