Taylor is one of my favourite boxers so I'll be gunning for him but I fear for his life after the fight if he wins....Cotto or GGG await him if he wins and he'd be foolish to turn down the money and/or lucrativity of that and that will possibly retire him in the process.

I thought Soliman retired 5 years ago.

Do you follow boxing at all :huh:blood

He beat Sturm twice but tested positive for methylsynephrine the first time.

He is one of the oldest men to win a major belt if it counts for something.

I hate to finally make a pick but I'l going for Soliman by late stoppage or decision in this one. I would really like to see JT winning a title again but his move down is clearly a desperate move and this is the first time he fights at 160 in seven years. Really can't see him winning this. I'll vote Soliman by decision but a KO/Stoppage won't shock me one bit.

I could've sworn JT had a few fights at MW recently. I thought I heard him talk about how this is his ideal weight and all.

10 fights and undefeated in the past 5 years. You don't follow boxing then?

I know I should hate this fight, a past it KO victim with no world class wins to get this shot is getting a shot but I kinda wanna see Taylor do it

If Jermain manages to get a win over Sam Soliman and lands a fight with GGG as a ‘reward’ I will truly fear for his life or that he could end up in the same terrible state as Abdusalamov is in following the fight against Mike Perez.

I’ve met Sam a couple of times in Melbourne and seen him fight live [especially in one of his fights against Mundine in which he was truly robbed] and whilst I do think he can/should win against Taylor, I don’t think that Taylor is at too much of a risk healthwise in the matchup. Sam hits hard enough to get respect but he’s not anywhere near being a real banger, so even a diminished Taylor should probably be ok in terms of safety.

That said, seeing Jermain in interviews on youtube, he really does look as though he has been damaged enough and you have to wonder if he should be allowed in the ring anymore despite passing the Nevada State requirments.
