The last time he weighed at the Middleweight limit was in 2007 against Pavlik in the rematch.

Right, but JT weighed in at 160.5 vs Truax. Close enough for me.

    Splitting hairs? :D

A half pound makes you think he can't safely make 160, is that what you're saying?

I take it you missed the rematch where Mundine Annihilated and KO'd Soliman?

All Soliman's fights with Mundine were at his non-preferred weight of super middleweight, and the first fight resulted in a split decision in a fight many thought Soliman had won.

At middleweight Soliman is IBF champion.

The first time they fought It was only Mundine's 9th pro fight and he still beat Soliman.

At Soliman's non-preferred weight of super middle and by split decision.

Soliman, now fighting at his preferred weight of middleweight is IBF champion. How is Mundine recovering from his recent hammering at the hands of Clottey?

Almost seven years to the day since losing the middleweight world championship by knockout to Kelly Pavlik -- and five years after suffering a brain bleed in a knockout loss to Arthur Abraham -- former undisputed champion Jermain Taylor will once again fight for a piece of the 160-pound title.

Taylor will challenge Australia's Sam Soliman for his version of the 160-pound title at a U.S. venue to be determined. According to Warriors Boxing promoter Leon Margules and Lou DiBella, who are co-promoting the card, the contracts are signed for the fight to take place on Oct. 4. However, there is a good chance the fight will be moved to Oct. 8 and air on ESPN2 as a Wednesday night boxing special, one week after the network will carry the Oct. 1 title elimination bout between Curtis Stevens and Hassan N'Dam for the right to become the mandatory challenger for the Soliman-Taylor winner.

"Jermain is very excited about it," trainer Pat Burns told ESPN.com on Wednesday. "We've won four fights since we got back together and Jermain has come back. I'd like to have had more fights, more activity, but that's the business. Jermain has been maintaining himself and his weight is good. It should pay off for him. He's already in pretty good shape."

Burns said they will open their official training on Tuesday in Miami.

"We always wanted to get another opportunity. They don't come around too often," Burns said. "We have a second chance and it's a blessing. He's fortunate to have this opportunity. I know there are some who say Jermain shouldn't get this opportunity and some that say Sam Soliman shouldn't be fighting Jermain, but I don't worry about the critics.

There you go. I'm not worried about him being weight drained. I'm worried about his fragile chin, even against Soliman.

I'm happy to hear this! I was hoping GGG would get his fight with Soliman but it looks like Taylor gets 1 more shot at a title. really happy to hear its on ESPN too! Thats cool, anything thats on local TV is a good thing for boxing espcially somebody like jermain Taylor.

Im not sure what Taylor has in the tank but Soliamn is not that great. he brings it though and Taylor has trouble with that. Should be a great one. If Soliam wins he should fight GGG or Cotto. Taylor wins he should gop straighht for Cotto for one last BANG! :bbb:bbb

call me crazy, but what happened to jermain taylor at the end of the froch fight, and especially the Abraham fight, is grounds enough to prevent the man boxing again

very, very solid boxer...very, very worrisome Achilles heel
