Dude... Cotto isn't a *****. He took the Martinez fight when no one gave him a chance. Cotto has nothing to gain in a high risk fight against GGG. With a Canelo fight he can make a huge payday and the Canelo fight is still a dangerous and compelling match up. In a perfect world Cotto would fight GGG but considering all the duckers around I just think that Cotto is FAR from the worst in the business. Hes probably one of the fighters that ducks the least.

Meh. Cotto earned his stripes. Believe me when I tell you that I'm a huge GGG fan but hes new and really hasn't done enough to demand anything. Cotto is a veteran who has done a lot and its not like hes trying to fight bums indefinitely to stay undefeated or anything. He just wants that incredibly lucrative Canelo fight. Personally I really want to see the fight too. Cotto v GGG doesn't even seem like a good match because I think GGG is too big for Cotto. I think if Cotto beats Canelo he needs to either vacate or fight GGG but as it stands GGG can wait.

The reason I don't consider this a blatant duck is that if GGG was as lucrative as Canelo I believe that Cotto would have no problem fighting GGG. The GGG fight just doesn't make any sense at this point because GGG is super high risk low reward.

way I see it, golovkin has had to wait while Martinez cashed out fighting cotto, and now that cotto has actually won the belt, he's having to decide whether to do the right thing with golovkin, or use it to cash out of the division himself
cotto may have "earned his stripes", but that isn't a good reason for him (or anyone else) to deny golovkin what many see as 'rightfully his'

if fighters and their teams want to act like the federations, then boxing is going to become more and more 'mickey mouse' as the $$$ stakes rise
