Gibbs has lost his last 4 fights, 2 by knockout, including in the first round to James Kirkland. He is ranked 280th in the world.

I think this fight is an absolute joke, completely pointless and a waste of an opportunity on a big American card. Don't know if Luke Campbell is fighting...

Hope Smith is keeping busy in Pauls Abraham camp, he certainly isn't gaining anything Saturday.

He had a good 10 round fight a month ago and has been nursing a hand injury recently. This was always going to be a keep busy fight and getting some experience of fighting on a big card in America.

It's a fight just to generate hype Stateside. No good picking someone like his last opponent who will take Smith rounds and make him look ordinary. All about hype with this lad. Need to keep it going.

No I disagree. An opponent ranked 280th in the world who has lost is last 4 fights will not showcase anything, that's my point. I know he's had an injury but if it was bad enough that he couldn't fight someone credible, and by that I only mean top 100, he shouldn't be fighting at all.

Think it's more to get his name hyped a bit stateside - so he needs someone in there that will make him look good.

As has been said, he fought last month + has been dealing with a dodgey hand.

How can anyone moan about this, Hearn was upfront from the off saying this wasn't going to be a hard fight it's simply to give him experience fighting in a different country yet people still expect tough tests, some people just love moaning.

Absolute waste of time, Paul Smith is training for a world title fight that is better experience than this joke. What if he injures his hand bombing this guy out and is out for months again.
