Pulev is a bum.another klitschko fight I won't watch live. Wlad is without the doubt the most boring heavyweight champ in the history of the sport
The Difference Between Pulev and Povetkin / Haye Is that Povetkin could fight at cruiserweight if he actually got into top shape (routinely showing up to fights at a pudgy 220 pounds), and David Haye is/was a cruiserweight. Pulev, on the other hand, is a 6’4.5 250 pound (in shape) legitimate super-heavyweight. He’s also the de facto #1 contender in all of the heavyweight division, another break with Wladimir’s usual fare (outside of little, pudgy Povetkin), who have tended to have fought absolutely nobody before stepping up to Klitschko. Pulev has soundly beaten Dimitrenko, Ustinov, and Thompson in the last couple years, and those are the three best big guys in the heavyweight division outside of the Klitschkos. He’s also a technically proficient fighter who was a top amateur and happens to be a southpaw (so was Corrie Sanders). He’s literally (LITERALLY!) the biggest, youngest, best fighter on paper that Klitschko has ever fought (yup, look it up). My problem with Pulev is that he’s an ordinary athlete with only average power, so he doesn’t have the typical tools that have traditionally troubled Wladimir. But he’s been consistently fighting and beating guys as big or bigger than he is, which is great training for a fight with Klitschko. I am very much looking forward to this fight, for a couple of reasons. I don’t really expect Pulev to win, but he has a chance, unlike Wlad’s last decade~ of opponents, and he will certainly give Klitschko problems, even if he does lose.
Don't agree about Povetkin. He weighed in at 224 lbs last time and looked in fantastic shape. He is a legit heavyweight.
Haye and povetkin much more skilled than pulev Pulev has beaten nobodies Pulev defense is poor Pulev does not have any charisma for prefight hype, yet another boring Russian
he wont be pushed down every second and left tired climbing up from the canvas. it will be equal in the clinch, and yes that means alot with the way wlad fights nowadays.
Pulev doesn't have much of a chance, but he clearly isn't a bum either. I wonder in the 80's or 90's, everytime guys like Holmes, Tyson, Lennox, Holy and Bowe fought a guy that they should beat pretty easily (most of the time) they were called bums too?! :think
Holmes beats Randall Cobb = solid win Holmes beats Marvin Frazier = good win wlad beats haye = not bad win wlad beats povetkin = he beat a bum wlad beats pulev = cherrypicked win its pathetic.
