    Shawn Porter

    Strengths

Boxing - Shawn Porter is an awesome boxing machine. He presents so many unpredictable angles, spins of, throws some wonderful feints. He really knows how to put on a boxing masterclass. I really do believe he is the better boxer in this one.

Chin - Shawn Porter can take a punch. Yes he was knocked down a few times in sparring against Pacquiao but Pacquiao is one of the greatest of all time and at that time Pacquiao was putting guys like Cotto over. In Porter's fights against Alexander, Diaz 2 (haven't seen the first) and Malinaggi I have not seen him look slightly hurt, say what you want about these guys as punchers but they're all world class so Porter has at least a decent chin.

Stamina - What Shawn Porter showed against Alexander was one of the most awesome displays of stamina we have seen out of the young crop of fighters. Outside of Mayweather and Pacquiao I don't believe anyone around right now at welterweight has shown that type of stamina, to work at that pace over 12.

Strength - Shawn Porter's physical strength is awesome. He is compact built and can KO you.

    Weaknesses

Heaight and Reach - He is usually the shorter guy and that will be the case here. Although he has learned to work past that it is still a disadvantage which means he has to work harder.

Lunging in - Although Shawn Porter throws amazing feints with this, by tricking boxers into thinking they cannot be hit, against a spiteful counter puncher like Brook, if Brook gets him right it could have a double impact. You don't want that vs. Brook.

    Kell Brook

    Strengths

Footwork - Brook comes from the Ingle gym which has produced some great movers. Kell can move in and out of danger and get out of trouble even when you don't expect him to.

Power - Brook has some nasty power, he has even put people over with a jab. He can finish fights with one punch.

Timing - Brook has very good timing and counter punching skills. This could work out great for him if he walks Porter onto a shot.

Heart - Against Carson Jones he showed amazing heart in the first fight and came through a great deal of adversity. He will be up for this and you best believe he will be prepared to dig just as deep if not deeper than he did that night if he feels a win is within his grasp.

Speed - Early on in a fight Brook is very fast, which allows him to land shots and make people miss.

    Weaknesses

Stamina - Brook does not appear to have the stamina to go beyond 6 rounds at a high pace. In world class professional boxing this just is not good enough and certainly not against Porter.

Chin - Kell Brook's chin appears to be very weak at world class level. Senchenko and Jones who both don't hit as hard as Porter in my opinion, both had him all over the place.

    What I expect to happen

The early rounds will be cagey although Porter will still be pressing and making Brook work at a high pace. At some point Porter will begin to do his lunging in, this could result in him possibly getting caught and buzzed but I would expect him to recover.

As the fight goes on Porter will start putting on a clinic showing he has the better skills as well as physical attributes, which a lot on here who have never once been in the ring or in a boxing gym for any length of time and don't really understand the sport will struggle to understand.

After the 6th round if Brook is still in there he will be getting a real battering, he will be trying to dig deep but probably get knocked down a good few times and stopped the 6th and 10th, the 9th at a guess. :good

    Good post.
People are letting there passion get in the way of their predictions.
Porter is proven at elite level and no matter who he fights he hits them hard.
Brooks defense is suspect and so is his chin he might get stopped early.

    Elite level?

I've no idea who wins. My heart will rule my heard and I can't be objective as I want Kell to win far too much, but you can't pretend Alexander and Malignaggi are elite. That simply isn't the case.

I pretty much agree with this

I fancy Porter to win late or by decision , I like Brook and I really want him to win but I just don't know how good he is because of his previous opponents, and I feel that porter has better stamina

However, porters win against Malignaggi is massively overrated by many

I really hope I'm wrong and brook has the class to go to this next level

Who ever wins I think kell will give a good account of himself and I can see him pulling it off.

Porter lunges in head low. Kells 2 best punches are his jab and he throws a mean uppercut also his timiming of his shots is a strong point if he catches porter then perter will know about it.

People talking like porter is a machine! Yeah I arnt denying hes a class act but come on I seen his struggle with diaz who was never hurt in 2 fights and alfonzo gomez was never hurt in the slightest and had abit of succes v porter he hasnt stopped anyone in 2 years then coz he stops a very poor and old looking magglinagi hes all of a sudden a fighting machine.

I may have to eat my words but I aint sold in porter

As much as I like Brook I can't see him pulling this off at all. I think he could get blitzed by round 5, if Porter is more patient he will catch up to him by round 9. Getting past round 10 would he a success, as bleak as that sounds, but he's up against a blatant PED cheat on American soil. He's also left himself totally unprepared in terms of experience. The only way I can see Brook winning is by stamping his authority early and making Porter pay for everything he does, constant jabs as well as beating him to the punch to stop them explosive shots.

All this said I hope he has gears we haven't seen and he beats the cheating t**t on his own turf!

Why do you even care ? Forget about who posts what and just judge each prediction or opinion on a post by post basis

I ain't agreed with everything Solaris has posted but it don't stop me worrying if I do agree with something he posts........

Unless it's MVC in the main forum who is just a weird kid continually posting bait lol

Brook has the potential but I think his lack of good opponents is what will let him down in this fight. He's obviously got the punching power to end this but think the pressure from Porter will be too much for him
