His got a point with the holding rule, not enough boxers get penalised fe it an some have made excessive holding a key component of there style eg ward. People have stopped seeing excessive holding as illegal and have began calling skillful

With regards running, if a guy does run they get pints deductions and dq's

While if one guy has way better footwork and the other guy isn't willing to press the action eg lara-canelo it isn't running because the guy not pressing the action and walking around the ring at a snails pace is as much to blame as the guy with great footwork

It's all bull****...what you end up doing is *******izing the defensive aspects of boxing...making it less dimensional and more like amateur boxing...too much micromanaging the entire range of techniques in the sport. Hell, you would have ended up disqualifying Ali for excess holding in his rematch with Spinks for example.

Some of you guys want to make boxing more amateurish...holding and running can be abused for sure, but they've always been integral parts off the tactics and strategies of boxing. Encourage nothing but slugging, eh? It's a style bias that some of you have...you're getting carried away here.

Actually there's usually way less holding in amateur boxing as they get penalised a lot quicker for it so Iv no idea what your on about

Great ring artists like Willie Pastrano, Willie Pep, Ralph Dupas, and others would be constantly hounded for running and eventually "moving around too much"...

I don't expect you to know...I obviously mean that you want to tamper with and micromanage boxing styles and techniques until pro boxing is as insufferably boring, restricted and limited as amateur boxing. The history of boxing is rich with a myriad of styles and approaches to defensive tactics and strategies....you want a referee stepping in constantly and interferring with a particular fighter's style.

It's "rock-em/sock-em" slugfests that some of you guys want.

No I want the referees to do there jobs, excessive holding is illegal if referees did there jobs and deducted points for it more and dq'd people than fighters wouldn't be using it as there style

Let's just outlaw defensive boxing altogether. Make boxing a dumbed down, 1 dimensional sport...making more on par with MMA so it will please some of you guys.

What is defined as "too much holding" anyway? You want to leave that decision in the hands of a subpar referee, or a ref on "the take", or maybe having an agenda at stgake favoring one style over another...leave this part of boxing the hell alone.

most ward fights, the only referees on the take are the ones who let him get away with that much holding

in the kessler fight ward initiated a clinch every 20 seconds, thats not including the accidental one, just ones where ward grabbed him on purpose. the ref in that fight must have been on the take

Yea we are on the same page, all the way around, your insight tells me you have been following the sport for a very long time like me, i started getting into it way back in 1976...

Agreed with everything you said, especially number 8, i like the good ol days when guys didn't get into the peds, steriods, all the huge entourages, and other gimmicks, and ****amamie Bull****, they just showed up in shape and fought 15 hard rounds..

And i agree with the previous poster about excessive holding, and point deductions, i wanna see guys fight and trade blows, not hold, i used to box and holding, and wrestling with guys your own size tires you out faster than throwing punches...

Letting your hands go is a lot easier then wrestling on the inside, that wears you down fast in a fight...
