What fight were people watching if they think Porter won??

an American one.

 

Lacy was actually a very good fighter. he was just ruined by a great.

Porter however is a genuine bum with no skill. he's pure ****.

 

i must have missed those shots then.

he landed one clean punch throughout that i can remember. it was a left hook. other than that though, nothing.

 

I agree, Lacy was good, what I meant was Porter was building this fearsome reputation and the hype was way over the top but Brook out boxed and outfoxed him.

 

Yep porter made a kind of funny Tyson head movement impression then waved his arms around in a kid in the playground sort of way scoring hardly any clean scoring punches then held as much as brook did while on the inside porter moved his head around trying to butt threw rabbit punches which made me laugh as american usually moan about british fighters using the rabbit punch .

the only thing Kell could do at times was tie Shawn up due to him bull rushing in and mauling. it's the smart thing to do.

what Porter was doing had no connection what so ever to Boxing. absolutely nothing. he should learn to box. he should learn how to use a ****ing jab. but no, just barging his way in with his head.

 

the hype was the same (it always is with the Americans) but they're leagues apart in ability. :good

Regardless of how "cleanly" Porter was landing on Brook, in the 1st half of the fight Brook was allowing Porter to boss him around, showing no ability to deal with Porter on the inside except to clinch him, and allowing Porter to massively outwork and outland him. When Brook did throw, he did some good work, but he threw so little early and didn't put any dent in Porter at all until the 7th round, so it's very hard from my perspective to justify giving Brook the early rounds of the fight. He did finish much stronger than Porter and there's a case for him winning(personally I had it 115-113 for Porter), but when you're scoring a fight on a round-by-round basis, I do not see how anyone can give it to Brook by more than a round. And the simplified way I see it is that Porter won the 1st half of the fight, and Brook won the 2nd half, but Porter was more competitive with Brook in the 2nd half of the fight than Brook was in the 1st half with Porter.

 

:good Great night for us Brit's who have had to listen, watch and read many US fight fans saying for weeks what a beating Brook was going to get.

 

It was the two American judges who had Brook winning by a wide margin, the UK judge had it a draw. I agree with 117-111.....................

It was a clear Brook win. He went there and done exactly what he was supposed to do against a strong, rushing fighter.

 

I thought it was a draw but I wasnt impressed by brook at all, he really only held and did the odd one two, porter just completely gassed and it looked like he was banking in knocking brook out early in the fight

 

I really don't think Porter is any worse than Lacy was.

 

Paulie would have set them straight in comical fashion as he talks against everything a fighter that pummeled him does.
