A very good performance by Brook. I thought he had a chance, but being in America I was not super confident.
Like most of Watts comments,the scoring was a joke.But Kell easily out boxed Porter whose main tactic seemed to be to rush in with his head.Sets up the Brook v Khan fight which will surely be bigger than Froch/Groves.Like Khan but as a Tyke you know who I would be supporting.
what the haters gonna say now?? Jim Watt is a joke, his commentary was awful. Porter is dead average, all he did was rush in like a dog. Kell's conditioning is superb. Never cut a corner!
Sky's commentary usually reflects who they think is going to win beforehand. In Watts ' head, he imagines a fight going a certain way and often calls the fight that way, regardless of what's actually really happening in the ring. They didn't give Kell a prayer of a chance last night.
I'll be honest, before the fight I thought Kell would get beaten by a good 3 rounds or so. I was proven wrong. Great performance by Kell over a very good boxer. Let's not dismiss Porter as being a bum. He destroyed Paulie who was a very good boxer in his own right so Porter was no joke and Kell made him look ordinary.
Buzzing for Kell, you could see how much it meant to him! Another world champion rolls out of the Ingle gym!! Went to the yanks back yard and got the job done, hats off to him. How was Billy being a 'hater'? Everything I seen him mention on here about the fight was that he was pulling for Kell, but thought Porter would have to much for him?
Really pleased for kell! I knew there would be cuts, I'm glad they weren't a factor. Good to any fighter that wants to look good against porter. Onwards and upwards kell!
Don't know what fight the people watched who are saying Kell Brook won easily. His work rate was ****ing awful and OK, Porter may have been crude but he was at least letting his hands go, the likes of Khan got loads of stick for pushing Peterson off of him when they got in close, I'd rather Brook have done that than the constant holding he did inside. I honestly think it was an awful performance and the way everyone was shocked he got the decision tells you all you need to know about how close this shitty fight was.
He didn't win easily,he did win comfortably,never troubled by Porter,rocked him often.The tactic of holding was acceptable considering Porters rushing in with his head.Much the better boxer and deserved to win
