Ali over Foreman ranks high, The sincerity from Cosell during his monologue showed the sense of impending doom people had for Ali.

On paper Tyson vs Douglas. If you didn't know who Tyson or Douglas were and watched that fight you would think Douglas was the favorite though.

On paper I would say Corbett/Sullivan was bigger than even Tyson/Douglas. Just because the casual fan and a fair ammount of the fancy (in both cases) assumed the champs were unbeatable.

As mentioned Ali's legacy is in part built on two huge upset wins; and then near the end the victim of one against the novice Neon Leon.

One that sometimes goes under the radar is when Robinson (one defeat in roughly 140 bouts), on a near unbeaten run of 100 fights lost to Randy Turpin.

Another couple us Brits of a certain era remember the night John H Stracey went to Mexico City and won the title of the brilliant Napoles; and probably an even a bigger won a decade later when Honeyghan beat the then unbeaten, perceptive Hagler conquering, top pound for pound contender, Don Curry...

The one which had the biggest impact on me was tyson v douglas.
Tyson was the best of his era and considered pretty much invincible and to call douglas a lamb to the slaughter was being kind . I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Shocker.

agree with robinson turpin, clay v liston, ali v foreman honeyghan v curry.

Chavez v randall was another absolute shocker especially when the iron chinned all conquering Chavez got flattened

Holyfield - Tyson, holyfield had looked dangerously shot and Tyson was flying high again.

Junior jones kayoing barerra was notable at the time as well as kostya tsyzu's loss to vince phillips.

Vernon forests 1st win over mosley was a big surprise at the time as mosley had just beaten de la hoya and was looking untouchable

Thomas hearns win over virgil hill was a lovely surprise too

Of course that wasn't even a remotely neaqr prime Napoles. Stracey caught Mantequilla at the very end of his career.

He was still a huge underdog, going into Mantequilla's (adopted) home and was on the floor inside three minutes. Nearly 40 years of Hindsight, like many of these huge upsets often answers why they happened.

Some nice calls, but for me Tyson-Douglas remains the mother of all shockers. I actually didn't believe the headline when I first read it. I thought it meant to say 'Tyson KO10 Douglas' and I was surprised that Douglas lasted that long.

Buster Douglas's upset win over Mike Tyson also ranks very high with me. I don't think that
Muhammad Ali's upset wins over Sonny Liston and George Foreman are in the same class.

    Holmes v Spinks.

    Louis v Schmeling I

Louis v Wlacott I (Should Of Been)

Holmes v Mercer. Ray's belt was not on the line because the fight was seen as such a miss-match.
