HE gave round 3 to Brook i think but yeah, he's beyond ridiculous now. I fear he might be suffering from early stages of dementia.
All joking aside this thread is very warranted. The fact is that he just can't accurately commentate on a fight anymore so it's time for Adam Smith and the Sky boxing team to do the right thing and pay Jim Watt off and bring in someone else. Sky could start by bringing Paulie Malignaggi over as often as possible and maybe even get him to assist in selecting new commentators because last night just wasn't good enough. I've not heard the Showtime commentary but apparently they called the fight more accurately. Sky need to face some home truths and get rid of some dead wood as harsh as it sounds.
Yeah, it's time for a change. Jim has been a great commentator over the years especially back in the day but last night he was so far off the pace it's ridiculous - he actually spoilt my enjoyment of the fight. Adam Smith or big Barney Eastwood unfortunately need to step in now
Its something Watt seems to do when a British fighter is fighting abroad. He seems to think he should score it the way he thinks the judges will score it. But there were rounds he awarded to Porter where he had literally landed 1 or 2 clean shots, just because he appeared "stronger"
Watt did make the fight a bit depressing. I didn't score it so thought Brook would probably lose from the commentary. Watt only had Porter 1 point up at the end but made it seem like Brook had no chance of getting he decision. Watt scores fights on tradition, how he thinks they'll be scored, not the actual action and goes in one direction too much.
Once he's made his mind up that's it. Can't go with the ebb and flow of a fight. Another bad show. Let him go I say..
