This is not a general Marciano vs Tyson thread, but instead a question of which of the two had a more devastating right hand. (both 100% prime)

One punch power: Marciano. Even Bert Sugar said his right hand was the greatest right hand in boxing history.

    Hard to say really.

    They both had sick power.

Tyson bigger faster heavier and a cleaner, more accurate hitter than Marciano, but power is a mysterious thing, and Marciano was fighting in a smaller heavyweight era. so whose right was most dominant in their respective divisions?
Marciano's ko of Walcott was thrown so well, such a perfect shot.
The closest ive seen to it was tyson's absolutely perfect ko of frans botha
    Think Tyson edges it

Tyson had about 25 pound of lean muscle mass on Marciano and he was faster with his punches so I would say he probably hit harder. I don't know for sure though, both guys hit hard.

    marciano heavier handed.

tyson's ko of botha was his best one punch shot though imo. good one there

In a P4P sense, I think Rocky. In absolute terms, Tyson. There is little doubt that both are elite punchers though...

Absolutely...it was the greatest right hand in the history of boxing...for once I agree with the late Mr. Suger.

In the absence of anything better to go on, we might say that they were both among the harder hitters of their respective weights, and since Tyson was significantly heavier, he probably hit harder in absolute terms.

I do think that Marciano’s power stacked up well against some much bigger heavyweights though.

If you think about it though, how many guys did Tyson knock out cold for a count of 10? Not many. Marciano did it several times. Just something to think about.

This is why I am sold on Marciano’s power. He didn’t just stop them, he numbed them. I don’t care what size his opponents were, there are not many people who can do that to world class guys.

Walcott and who else like that that were real HWs ?
No doubt at all in my mind that Tyson would murder supermiddleweights and light heavies with one punch if he landed.
I think Walcott was the right punch at the right time landed on the exact place to result in that. Because if we are starting to use this criteria, well, then Rahman hit harder than Tyson. JMM is one of the hardest hitters ever. And so on.
