Actually I just watched the fight, and it's rather inconclusive that Bruno received smelling salts. They woukd have been illegal had he used them but from what I saw, Lawless helps him back to his corner, he rinses a sponge on his head, another member removes his mouthpiece and pours a bottle of water on Bruno's head. The broadcast cuts to the replay of Cummings punch. When they return the camera view is obscured by the chief seconds back and lawless. Not intentionally but they are hovered over their fighter, the man whose name I do not know arm is free for a moment near Bruno's nose, but for all I know he could of put his mouthpiece back in and massaged his face a bit, then his hand goes under Bruno's chin and holds his head firm to allow proper breathing.

I will say this that punch more than Stunned Bruno. He was out on his feet, that round is just 2-3 seconds longer he gets hurt bad and ko'd.

Why dont you watch the fight before making a comment out of ignorance? Jimmy Tibbs has the mouth piece in his hand, not smelling salts.

No I hate posters whose balls crawl up their arse when they are called on something such as a list of comparable physical attributes between Tyson and Frazier and asked to give an honest answer but haven't the nuts to do so, so ignore the request because it would blow their argument totally out of the water.

It was the mouthpiece he had in his hand, his name is Jimmy Tibbs, ex lhvy and a very good trainer in his own right as is his son . Tibbs's autobiography is out now,it should be an interesting read.

Did you notice the rabbit punch that lands as the bell is ringing?
Cummings shot his wad and gassed out ,he was nothing but a crude, wild swinger.
Now back in jail I believe.

I agree. It looks like a mouthpiece nothing more. Doesn't seem like anything was afoul from my vantage point. If anything Bruno showed good recuperation ability in this fight. Thanks for the heads up on Jimmy Tibbs, I will be on the look out for his book although I have several others I have to get to first.

I did notice the rabbit punch. I didn't read too much into it, it didn't seem to land too heavily and was more a product of Bruno's awkward position right at the bell. Cummings was crude and I do believe he is serving a life sentence now.

    ,

We are either going to agree to disagree or disagree to disagree and disagree anyway. The factors listed are debatable close enough to be inconsequential. I agree with those that think that Tyson, when stood up to, showed cracks.

I've no problem with anyone disagreeing with me I'm often wrong.
What I dislike is snidey little oneliners like "owned," when I know I'm correct , and I was there.

No they are not ,Tyson was substantially bigger, faster, had a better variety of punches , defence and had ko power in BOTH hands .He shits all over Frazier in those departments and anyone being honest would admit it .

The poster I challenged to choose who was superior in those factors never replied, why do you think that is?

Sorry when did he show cracks? what cracks?

Tyson was the aggressor in both the Holyfield and Douglas fights.

For those who have boxed, know, that you if you've lost heart, its very difficult to be the aggressor in a fight.

Had Tyson mentally folded, as suggested, he would have been running.

But no, he was still there, in fact it was due to his reckless aggression which allowed Buster to find the finishign uppercut.

Mentally folding is when guys like Seldon start running backwards or guys like Bruno, holding on to clinch.

Tyson was looking for the ko against Douglas and Holyfield. And against Douglas, he nearly found the answer.

Tyson won the 5th round against Holyfield and started the 6th round very strong, Holyfield then lands a headbutt, a low blow, and then a knockdown (which was more due to poor balance). Tyson seemed jaded for the rest of the fight, but he got off the floor and carried on fighting.

Douglas himself has said, he looked into Tysons eyes after the end of one of the rounds, he said he thought hed see quit in Tysons eyes, instead, he said Tyson seemed more determined than ever.

Hardly sounds like someone who showed cracks.

But none of this would matter due to the amount of torpedos landing on Fraziers chin.

    Frazier aint getting up repeatedly,
he aint turning the fight round,
    he aint weathering any storm,
he aint making it to the later rounds
he wont hear the final bell.

He will be out cold before the 6th, or the ref will save him from further punishment

You seen what David Haye did to Derek Chisora? this fight would be something similar, but much quicker

If Tyson never showed any cracks then why has he always been portrayed as a bully who falls apart when stood up to?

The only reason Tyson appeared to be the aggressor is because he couldn't change his gameplan to save his life, the man was basically a come forward punchbag against Douglas.

Tyson was to blame for the clash of heads against Holyfield and a little cut appeared to drain all of the life out of him, notice how he screams like a girl when cut, quite pathetic for a man with his reputation.

How many great fighters did Tyson knockout cold, no way in hell is he putting Frazier to sleep. Tyson doesn't see the final bell and would be completely overwhelmed and outfought.

Tyson KO 1 - Fraizer's chin combined with Tyson's fast starts leaves him with no chance here. Styles make fights and this one is a nightmare for Joe - like Foreman but worse for him.

Actually, I quoted incorrectly. There was already a response in which you rewatched the fight on youtube and pointed out that that use of smelling salts had been banned.
