It's kind of hard not to bet on Hopkins at a +200 in this fight, even if I am leaning slightly towards Kovalev to win.

It's a good possibility Kovalev will stop Hopkins via body punching. Kovalev has a prime Roberto Duran vibe.

Shumenov's style was perfect for Hopkins to look good against. I said prior to the fight it was going to be an easy night for Hopkins. Shumenov has terrible footwork, too wide a stance, poor balance and needs to set to punch which will always see Hopkins fight his kind of fight.

Hopkins has slowed since the Pascal fights. He's clearly to me declining faster in recent years, much of it has been hidden due to facing weak opposition in Murat and Shumenov. I wasn't impressed by his performance against Cloud, he looked much easier to hit than before and struggled to control the fight. It was hardly the dominating performance some made it out to be. All of this makes me doubt Hopkins chances.

That's what I have been thinking. One punch to the liver.
He's going to land, after being out-boxed
I can see Kovalov having a bad cut in the fight
Most of the Euro guys have been spoon fed
Kov's gonna' learn a lot, but Hop may be taught a new lesson

So this will be for the: WBO/WBA/IBF and Ring title? Or is Ring and Lineal held by Stevenson? Either way I'm hoping within two-Three fights (inc Hop-Kov) we will have a completely unified LHW champion!

I feel Hopkins has some underrated power

But I just can't see him lasting this one

Would be sad if Hopkin's last fight is a Stoppage, having never been stopes his whole career like Mosley - who also went out after a TKO loss

I need to see the build up and to see how Kovalev reacts to Hop mind games. If he still has that madman look on his face before the fight I think that he can take it. I don't think it will be easy for either fighter. Kovalev punch hard but is kind of slow and Hop knows how to brake the rhythm slower fighters with subtle movement and jab. It will be really hard for Kovalev to nail him clean on the head. So the question is can he position himself to tag the body and who is going to be stronger in the clinches. It is generally unwise to bet again Hop. And his recent fights are not a real indication of decline because he has the ability to bring the executioner back for the big fights.

Anybody else notice how big Hopkins' head is compared to years ago? It's an indication of PED use.

But sooner or later, the PEDs will become less effective and he'll decline very quickly. Long-term use isn't good for a man's health.

IDK -I'm sure I've heard some of these hippie types saying that your brain is like a muscle, and they're always talking about expanding your mind.

Must be something to do with that. These druggies. smh.

I think this is a genuine life threatening fight for 50 year old bhop.

Kovalev already killed a man in the ring....

I remember guys like roach saying they feared for hopkins healtg against hard hitting pavlik... But this time i really think hopkins will get executed.

Kovalev is a bad ass mf. I predict hopkins to get beat up and put to sleep

In all fairness in the NBA, they showed photos of all the famous modern-day players, and what they used to look like several years ago. There is an obvious change in the way their face looks, and it ain't fat. Seriously, look it up if you don't believe me. Freaky ****.

    Yes.

Hopkin's appearance has changed, his head is bigger now.

That's why he refuses to take the test.

He's definitely dangerous regardless of Hopkins' age, add his age into it and he becomes extremely dangerous. However, Hopkins has been through far better fighters in his career. It's only his age that makes people consider Kovalev his most difficult test to date.
