Floyd Sr is 100% correct Porter is limited and wild. If you have the boxing skill to overcome his wild aggressiveness you can school him, but if you can't stand up to his attack he will beat you.

You have to transcribe what FM Sr is saying, and read between the lines. He's critical of boxers because he compares them to his son. He toes the family line, but he does give good insight to boxing and boxing styles.

Porter isn't a slick boxer like Kell Brook or Floyd Jr. That's what he was saying, basically that Porter needs a lot of work. It's a little deceptive because yes he's right but Porter has more power and is more a threat to knock someone out.

It would be like someone criticizing Mike Tyson for throwing too many hooks and not enough jabs. What does that matter if he's knocking out folks left and right in a way that Floyd Jr never could. Example : Porter vs Malignaggi, that was an exciting knockout because Porter doesn't usually throw that many straight punches. FM Sr. does know a lot about boxing, and is entertaining, but he's very biased towards his son. So you have to take what he says through the lens of his son's career.

One thing that is interesting is back when FMJ fought Oscar De La Hoya FM Sr. at the time was estranged from his son Floyd Jr. and actually said he thought DLH should have got the decision. (paraphrasing, he was discussing the fight and gave both sides of who the fight could have been scored for) Now FM Sr. and FM Jr. are on the same page but it wasn't always that way.
