You are overlooking a few things though:
1. These guys eventually may have ended up weighing in at 122 due to a combination of old age and middle-age spread.
2. When you are in your 30's like LSCs opponents, and not contesting a title - why the hell would they kill themselves "making weight"? So of course they weigh in the 120's for recent fights.
3. When these guys were LSCs age they WERE bantams and flys.

Once again LSC follows a depressingly familiar pattern.
Signs to fight some road-sweeper and promptly goes public with interviews waffling about how he "wants" to fight, and "is not scared of".................................................... (insert name of leading superbantam here _____________________________)


Todays Phantom "hold me back - let me at him" is Rigo. With honourable mention to Carl and Quigg.

I blame the sactioning bodies for letting ***gots like santa cruz get away with not fighting legitimate mandatories.

 

Not blaming LSc himself personally. But his management team aren't doing him any favours. Or else they don't have great confidence in him. I think this next guy only won 3 of his last 6! He used to be LSCs sparring partner.

This "fight" will do nothing to prepare Leo for the likes of Quigg,Kiko, Carl, Rigo.

now - do you know that the big names at 122 are all CAREER super bantams?
( as opposed to guys who "grew" into the division due to old age and obesity)

These guys fight other career super bantams all the time.

If LSC does take one of these guys, like Carl, kiko, rigo, quigg etc he may not be ready to cope with the step up. There is no guarantee he will win. He is unproven at 122! Unproven.

Let's hope so. Lots of people have been talking him up, but he is, as I say unproven. He has a fairly simple style " Walk up and throw".
Dunno if this will still work when the shots coming back are way harder than he is used to. That's all I'm saying. :thumbsup
