Rubio "GGG has a poor Defense! I will not fight scared like previous opponents!"

    This is just an observation
    Gary Lockett stopped for the first time by Pavlik in 3
    Jermaine Taylor stopped for the first time by Pavlik in 7 with Prime Froch lasted 12
    Edison Miranda stopped for the first time by Pavlik in 7 Prime Abraham couldn't
    Jose Luis Zertuche stopped for the first time by Pavlik in 8
    Bronco Mckart stopped for the first time by Pavlik in 6
    Fulgencio Zuniga stopped for the first time by Pavlik in 9
    Miguel Espino stopped for the first time by Pavlik in 5
    All guys in their prime, Pavlik destroyed, Kelly was a beast just like GGG.
    Yet Rubio was not KO'd his corner pulled him out, he could have easily gone 3 more rounds, but he was so far behind it was pointess.
    Kelly had a 5 inch height and reach advantage as well. Rubio and GGG are basically even.
    Pavlik in his prime I think was far more impressive than GGG is now.
    The Taylor and Miranda KO's surpass anything GGG has accomplished to date.

    Granted Rubio is much older now, but he is still sturdy as hell, and with Garcia has been showing some slight improvement skillwise, he won't win on points but Rubio will probably go the distance, and if GGG can KO him then I will be truly impressed, more than I already am. Rubio does have a puncher's chance and this has been a year of upsets.

    Is Rubio a first common opponent for GGG with Pavlik and Chavez Jr.? Interesting.

    Prime Maravilla would not have dominated GGG, cmon, kids. GGG is no Pavlik, and you'll see why on Oct 18.

    Smoked? Did you watch the fight?! Junior didn't do any serious damage. What round was Rubio wobbled in?

    Rubio is a veteran not to be taken lightly, but GGG always seems to be one step ahead. Not only will he lead and take the fight to Rubio, he'll be countering Rubio too. If Rubio can land something, we can have a war. I don't see Rubio beating GGG to the punch tho.

    Agreed.....though if I were his manager I would insist on performing my
    own ocular inspection on the gloves!!!

    Same as Mayweather vs Maidana when he felt the padding and acknowledged it was repositioned away from the knuckles!!!

    Not saying their altered....just for the sake of the naysayer's proof of a fair fight!!!

    Yeah this is a really good fight. I'm a big GGG fan but I'm not counting Rubio out. Idk why people are writing him off so quickly. I guarantee he last longer than Geale and he may just go the distance.

    Rosado and his trainer inspected the gloves themselves. When offered, they declined using them.

    What evidence do you have that his gloves are being tempered with?

    Chavez was visibly hurt in 2 rounds. The Chavez name won the match, not what JR did in the ring. I recall most observers including myself scoring it 7-5 Rubio

    Maybe not a robbery, since it was a close fight but Rubio was the better fighter who did more damage despite massive size disadvantage.

    Kind of humorous to see some people running around lately pretending like Rubio got whooped by Chavez while (I am guessing) hoping noone actually remembers the fight.

    I honestly doubt that. It would have been a good fight though, as long as it lasted.
