Fights you'd be willing to bet money you can't afford to lose on the betting underdog

Which potential fights that could be made would you be willing to bet money you can't afford to lose on the fighter that would most likely be the betting underdog (basically so you have nothing less should the fighter you picked not win- regardless of how much that is).

I was extremely confident last Sat's fight that Brook would beat Porter but had to factor in the chances of a robbery on Amercian soil, so wouldn't been one I'd have been willing to bet every last penny on.

An example of one I would be willing to is Carl Froch beating Adonis Stevenson at 175, where I would imagine Froch would be the underdog with the bookies if the fight took place in Canada. I strongly believe Froch would make Stevenson look like he doesn't belong in the same ring as him, getting Buted in a more emphatic fashion than Bute himself. (I also believe Hopkins would completely own Stevenson but I'm not sure if he'd be the bookies underdog at this stage).

 

I agree he'd beat Algeiri but I think Khan would be favorite going in though.

One guy I'd be willing to bet a lot of money on Khan to beat (but not so much I can't afford to lose) is Thurman, I give Thurman a punchers chances but only that due to Khan's glass chin (not sure Khan wouldn't be the favourite or at least even money based on name recognition though).

 

But would you be willing to bet so much you wouldn't have a penny until your next pay packet....bearing in mind how poor Wilder's defense, legs and chin are. ...:think

 

Yep, it's more about identfying the hype jobs who wouldn't see the final bell and don't have much of a punchers chances. You've also got to factor in robberies etc

For example, i'm confident with fair judging and officiating there is a heap of guys at 140 that would defeat Broner, but will there be fair judging and officiating...plus he wouldn't see the final bell against Garcia, Matthysse and Provodnikov but I'm not sure the bookies would probably be picking them, and the other guys in the division don't have comparable power so Broner has a chance of getting a robbery.

 

Brave choice....don't give Fury much of a chance at all myself (as a matter of fact I probably give David Price more of a punchers chance than Fury).

 

:good I thought it was extremely obvious who would win unless you thought it was Brook of Carson Jones 1 vs Porter of the Paulie fight (as for some reason, a lot posters seemed to think)- two huge mirages when it came to how good the fighters actually are.

 

I think Fury's main problem in that fight is actually getting to the later stages.
