Trout surprises me, Jones doesn't. He never really impressed me that much, he seems to have a lot of athletic ability but that is about it.
It seems he's clearly faded with the loss and inactivity, but Mike Jones' deficiencies have always been glaring. Back when most were calling him the future of the division before the Bailey fight, I was pretty sure he wouldn't be sticking around the rankings for very long. I could still be wrong, and hope I am. I've always found Jones to be a decent guy, although I'm not sure I've ever heard or read anything positive or negative about him.
Well, yeah. You have to look at him against brawlers though. When he wasn't being a ****** against Karass the second time he outclassed him... Plus he really shut the underrated Lujan down. He's conventionally been pretty good at dealing with reckless brawlers, or even one with a bit of savvy (Lujan) But yeah, 2 years is a really long time.
It was actually the doctor, but (without the benefit of audio like a glossier production would offer) my guess is Jones was responding badly to his line of questioning. Jones was beaten up BADLY.
How hard was Herrera knocked down anyway? Flash ones? Also, you saying that Herrera was a tough, scrappy kid that was going to come to rumble made me look for the little existing footage of him. Saw a really game kid who throws with bad intentions and can rip a guy against the ropes. Thanks sirs.
