Against nobodies like Thornberry , Branko Sobot etc.

Back then the WBO wasn't even recognized as a legit title so it shows how long you have been watching boxing.

Hey you dumb mother****er, in my first post on the subject, I said gaining more weight helps your punch resistance AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU OUT OF SHAPE.

and if you're bigger, you'll most likely have more muscles in your neck, legs, etc. Do you really think a featherweight could take the punches of a heavyweight fighter? This is boxing and there are weight classes for this exact reason.

Like I said, when you move up in weight, you're chin will get better, but your opponent's punching power increases at a higher rate which is why heavyweights get more KOs than flyweights.

******ed **** I tell you. How about you spar for once in your damn life. Most fighters don't get as many KO's as they move up in weight hmmmmm, I wonder why?

getting a split decision against a 40+ year old doesn't make you into an ATG. Hopkins was beaten clearer by Taylor beforeand Dawson after. Roy Jones was koed numerous times before and after Calzaghe.

Apart from Kessler, Calzaghes resume was **** poor

he is an overrated bum and i stand by my decision.

How is 50 pounds of muscle supposed to make you "out of shape"? Just admit you don't know a damn thing about biology and physiology, and I will gladly enlighten you. Just stop spewing nonsense as if it were facts: ignorance is better than false knowledge.

Ps: I had 4 amateur boxing fights and 1 am thai boxing fight. I am not just a scientist, my love for boxiny is more than theoretical.

Thank you. These fanboys can't handle the truth.

Calzaghetards are another group of fans whom I think are more naive than the Klittards. Post each Hopkins fight, these ******s run into these forum with their dumb ass cliche "Calzaghe win over Hopkins keeps getting better and better as time goes by"

These dumb focks even have the audacity to brag about Joe's win over washed up Jones Jr as if Joe beat a 26 year old Jones.

50 pounds of muscle will make you out of shape for boxing. It'll screw with your cardio and probably throw your balance out of wack when you're as big as he was.

When a smaller fighter spars fighters much bigger than them, the punches can knock them off balance and move them much easier. It works the other way when a smaller fighter punches a bigger fighter because he has more weight grounding him and to absorb the impact

okay, there are 2 problems with your argument.

    1. you said "unless that weight makes you out of shape". To any normal person, that means fat. You claim you meant muscle, fine, even though I am pretty sure you didn't.

    2. What you are referring to is not punch resistance, or chin. Its your overall INERTIA. Yes, as a heavier man, you will be harder to move around via body punches, However, a punch in the jaw will still do the exact same thing, regardless of how much you weight because, once again, utilizing physics and biology:

The shock your jaw experiences is called Momentum, and its the mass of the fist multiplied by the speed at which it was traveling. All that momentum has to be conserved, thus your chin must receive the entire impulse and handle it. Those 50 lbs of muscle you gained did not go into your chin, or add extra resistance, and your chin is still taking the entire impulse just like it did 50 lbs ago. If you were unable to handle that impulse back then, you won't be able to handle it now, plain and simple. A knockout, in physiological terms, is a restart of the brain as a reaction to an abnormally high pressure (built in as a failsafe to prevent brain damage). The magnitude of impulse required to trigger such reset is usually very close to constant for each person, and is influenced by a number of factors I've listed in the previous post.

Mercer was floored and hurt by Holyfield, and TKO'd by Wlad and Briggs. I think Mercer took a great punch, just saying Vitali in his prime or past prime was never this hurt.

Marovic didn't face any puncher's besides Lewis.

Vitali took 2 shots from Lewis that were MUCH harder than what he landed on Mercer or Marovic. He was not close to going down.

He took Sanders best. Hide landed a good one. Never floored in any match, his chin and ability to take a punch is as good as any heavyweight.

Yeah, never hitting the canvas in your entire professional career and as a HW champ in the division where one punch can end the fight at any second proves you have an over rated chin:lol: :nut
