The Oscar fight was at 154 lbs where gloves are mainly 10 oz though. Oscar being the bigger draw picked the gloves for that fight. Although outside fights above 147 lbs I think Floyd has worn 8oz, you are correct that Jones could have likely got the fight with 10 oz gloves for that fight but he himself probably prefers the smaller gloves.
