Tyson would get taken down and ground into hamburger meat by Jones' elbows.
Or Jon would kick him until he quit from his legs being pounded into "bolivian".
Jones showed against Gustafson that he has an unbreakable will and courage, something Tyson lacked.

Jones is the greatest fighter in combat sports history.

You don't watch mma or Jon Jones fights have you? Tyson is a boxer, he doesn't know how to wrestle or kickbox. He would get torn up.

How would he do that? He has no idea how to grapple. If anybody is getting a limb snapped it is Tyson.

I hope Jon Jones can think fast, because hes going to sleep very quickly.

Tyson is one of the hardest hitting fastest starting fighters ever, Jones will be out cold and early.

Actually im a black belt in kickboxing and a former amateur boxer, and im picking Tyson by Ko and fast.

Trying to wrestle or throw kicks at a guy like Tyson? A guy who was fast enough to avoid punches?

Tyson moves and punches faster than Jones can kick.

    suicide.

Fedor would beat Jones like a child.

  11. Prime Tyson Vs Jones, I would favour Tyson. The speed between a prime Tyson and Jones is many levels. Tyson moves in a different galaxy. Tyson would need to land one punch.

Watch near every Tyson fight. As soon as the first bell goes he comes out the blocks flying and connects in an instant. He would just need to land one on Bones. He is not going to be thinking about bones wrestling or elbows, he will stick to what he knows best and I bet he would land that KO punch instantaneously. Because the height difference and Tyson low centre of gravity, it would not be easy for Bones to grab hold of Tyson to wrestle him. Tyson would just come at him bobbing and weaving, peek-a-boo style and BANG!!! That would be all she wrote. In an MMA match? Then you would have to favour Jones but I give Tyson a chance still.

I actually believe a young, angry, still-thinking-about-that-guy-who-tore-the-head-of-his-pigeon, Prime Mike Tyson would be a match for any man in history. Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, Cain Velasquez, Bruce Lee, Gracie, Kimura, Ali, you name it. He had that advantage of only having to land one punch and he was quite an expert at doing it. Tyson had so many one punch kos. In terms of speed, the likes of Cain Velasquez move at snails pace compared to Prime Tyson. I still think today’s Tyson moves quicker than some of today’s UFC fighters.

Tyson shatters that glass. Worse than Ray Mercer did to Tim Silvia.

Jones by leg kick KO first round. There are sound reasons why boxers don't fight anyone decent at Muay Thai under any sort of full stand up rules.:deal

Just check the crossover success from kickboxing to boxing current and past champions and then compare crossover success from boxing to kickboxing success. :rofl

Funny how Tyson is offered up as the rep in the MMA versus boxing biased battle. Fark - why didn't you select Ruiz, Arreola or Vitali. :patsch I forgot - Vitali already got knocked out by head kick KO in plain kickboxing and gave away the sport for boxing.:yep

Tyson would get fairly battered by the elbows of Jones. I think it's a hard enough match up for Tyson in that he couldn't have the range on his side, where as if he fought someone who likes to come in a little bit more, he'd have more of a chance of landing the hook. Jones would probably wrestle him down though.

If Mike Tyson picked MMA instead of boxing, he'd be the greatest MMA fighter of all time. His natural body size, his natural absolutely insane power, his natural head movement. Give Mike Tyson submission defence and takedown defence, and he knocks out any MMA fighter on the planet.
