This thread claims that Mayweather has not fought a number 1 fighter since 2005.

    He has. Four times.

    Baldomir
    Mosley
    Cotto
    Alvarez

I never named Ortiz or Ghost. You are bringing them up. They were not the number 1 fighter in the division (nor were they #2 when Floyd was #1).

You think Pacquiao was the #1 fighter at Junior Middleweight from May 2012-Sept. 2013?

Can I quote you on this in the future?

Floyd says it best (about his next opponent, who is next etc etc):

    "It's all about timing"

Sure as **** it is... Ortiz sucks dick..Maidana already fcked him. Guerrero is a joke. Alvarez I give credit for but still at 152? c'mon man...that mofo looked dead & it looks like he can barely make 154 anymore...

It's too late now anyway...for both Pac & Floyd...They will both go down as phenomenal fighters but meh no real history was made. Both will retire Pac will continue doing his own thing whilst Floyd will still try and be involved with boxing...probably be a trainer & have a few of his fighters fail drugs tests which will be funny etc etc. bump in 20 years time.

When Mayweather fought Alvarez has was coming off a unification bout vs the #1/2 fighter in the division. Pacquiao was coming off arguably 3 losses in a row the last by KO yes Alvarez was ranked higher than Pacquiao.

Alvarez was a unified lineal champion at Junior Middleweight.

Pacquiao was not ranked at Junior Middleweight and has only fought there once in his career, against a fighter who has never been close to being ranked at the weight.

Forgive me I did the same thing earlier this week  http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=515715

I mean't to say Alvarez barely beating Trout is why Floyd faced him.

If Trout didn't make it such a close fight (1 point Canelo won by on my card) Floyd wouldn't have gone near 'Nelo.

    ...OK?

Your opinion is irrelevant in retrospect. You don't know, I don't know, nobody knows about your claim.

And why does that matter? Alvarez beat Trout in a close fight to start a lineage at JMW and Mayweather immediately beat him to take that title.

You are reaching so far for anything, just stop and save some face...
