British Reporter: ”Why don’t you match Brook up with Keith Thurman who is good and that’s what boxing fans want to see”?

Eddie Hearn: “You’re talking about “boxing fans” and NO ONE has EVER heard of Keith Thurman except “hardcore” boxing fans, (Thurman) Great Fighter, Really Wacked, Great fight for Kell Brook, but from a profile perspective (money) theirs others out there that mean more to “casual” fans. Thurman yes he’s in the mix it’s a very tough fight and difficult fight not sure if it (Thurman) will be Brooks’s first defense fight”.

Brook will hold that belt hostage.

Boxing fans wanted to see Cotto-Martinez. It flopped. Sadly, Hearn is on point about this. Khan-Brook would be huge over there.

Who? Nobody heard of him. On a different network. Only if the money is right. It doesn't make sense. He's not on my level. Let him prove himself first... fill in your own favorite.

    All chicken talk.

'Kinky' Kelly Brook vs Keith 'Uma' Thurman is a very good fight with an unknown winner. LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!

This is what im fearing will happen. This guy held his final eliminator status hostage for years. Just think whats going to happen now he's got the belt and brought it home:hh

Good fight but it does nothing for Brook. If he loses, ALL of his future money making bouts probably go down the drain, he'll be labeled a fraud. And on top of that, make **** money. If he wins? People will label Thurman a hype job and Brook gets little credit.

Its very similiar to the reasoning he gave for never wanting to rematch Ward with Froch.

To be fair , nobody is going to make their first defence of the title against a danger man like Thurman.

He's pretty much saying that Thurman would be far too risky for the reward he provides, which is logical to be honest. If he has Brook vs Khan in plan then I'd honestly be in the "casual" list and prefer it more due to the history between the two. Apparently, Mayweather's team seem to be encouraging it.

    ---

When asked if he thinks a Khan-Brook fight should determine an opponent for Mayweather, Jones said “Oh yeah, that would be perfect because he’d [Brook] earn his spot to fight Mayweather.”
There are a couple of problems with Brook trying to get the fight against Khan.

they should take this fight sooner rather than later

get him now before him improves any more , brook should push for it now imo , eg:- maidana of now beats beats khan of then and now if you catch my drift , some fighters just get better and better where some get worse

Thurman would beat Brook in my opinion. While there's always room for improvement, Thurman already has proven he's good enough to belong up there by beating guys like Karass, Diaz, Chaves and Quintana.

It's only acceptable for Brook to not face Thurman, in his next 1-2 defenses, if Khan has agreed to a fight, in my opinion. For Brook, the Khan fight is more meaningful and more lucrative, unless Khan gets sparked again. If he takes out Khan and Thurman, he will no doubt be the leader of the new school.

To be fair, I can see where Hearn is coming from.

Higher profile & money spinning fights out there for Brook than Thurman... who at the moment falls into the high risk/low reward category.

Thurman needs to raise his profile.

Don't expect Brook or Khan to fight Thurman or anyone else that will put their big money fight in jeopardy.
