Pretty cool article on Algieri I just saw, figured i'd share. Worth the read. Writer seems to have reported on/covered Algieri early in his career as well but I kinda liked it. Especially the story about him winning a fight on a busted hand. Busted his hand round 1 and ended up stopping a guy late. Good story. We only see Provodnikov fight and assume CA guts were a one time thing on a big stage but apparently not and hes a tough gutsy mofo.

Im liking Chris more and more, he is a competitor.

I think people are starting to knock him because they loved Pac, and thus loved Provo.

And now Chris isnt basically saying he has already lost the fight with Pac, which people are being critical of.

I'm predicting it now, starting on November 23rd and the following month the majority of ESB will be screaming Algieri has been robbed there should be an immediate rematch.:deal Thus beginning the Pacquiao/Algieri trilogy

I like Algiere's toughness and skill, also.

But I think he is stepping up quite a bit here and that Pac will likely win it fair and square.

I don't think Pacquiao has the time for another trilogy or any of that BS- he likely has only very few fights left for any number of reasons. This is the main reason I believe we will see a real effort from him.

And... a real effort from Pacquiao is a considerable thing.

I dont think we will see a real effort from PAC, he seems to be overlooking CA.. and has gone back to training in the wrong time zone and playing boxing part time. The other things in his life seem to be taking priority, like politics and whatnot.

PAC doesnt seem to be getting up for this fight, and it wont surprise me if he loses.

you can add basketball to that list of distractions.still I think pacquiao will soundly beat algieri tko possibly.

  11. Algieri is a really good boxer.

Pac just beat a very game and prime Tim Bradley and it showed that he is, in fact, not old just yet. Like I said, Chris is not a pushover. He came back from true adversity against a scary dude in the ring and kept his head on his shoulders. It takes someone with real will and real confidence in their abilities to do that. Pac is a whole different kind of scary dude in the ring though. He moves… He is much faster and throws a lot more punches. Chris is not JMM and doesn’t have the power of JMM either, so I don’t see how Chris wins and I don’t think he deserved such a fight right away, but I am interested. Just not enough to purchase.

Considering the stages of their careers i have a hunch that we are going to see one of the biggest upsets this year. Four things make me think Algieri is going to win this fight:
    1. The height difference. Manny ‘used to’ make up for this disadvantages with his speed and power, which we can all agree is not what it once was.
    2. Manny is not as interested in boxing as he once was, or at the very least, no longer has that fire to fight with the intensity he once did. Nobody can question that the Pac we saw fight Bradly or Rios wasn’t the same animal that destroyed Hatton or Cotto.
    3. Algieri is in superb conditioning and will be able to fight at a high pace all night (even though he can’t punch very hard), and
    4. Algieri has a ton of heart, BRAINS, and a great chin (which we saw during the Ruslan fight).

I am taking Algieri by split decision (or he gets robbed blind in the same way Strum got robbed when he fought a coked up drunken DeLaHoya).

Undoubtedly better than madina. Madina can't even punch straight, and he still hasn't heard of a thing called "jab".
