I love watching Carl, but anyone pretending Kiko is a superstar is deluding themselves.

I really hope Carl wins and then they finally make the Quigg fight.

How will this fight pan out?

In the first fight, Carl put up a LOT of mileage on his boxing boots. He ran all over the ring to stay away from KIko.
I think that Team Frampton believe that if anything Carl showed Kiko a bit TOO MUCH respect.
I feel Carl will opt to run less and punch more early this time around.

Therefore I see one of two things likely happening, ie Carl wins one of 2 ways.
Scenario 1. He trades with kiko from the second round on, hurts kiko and finishes him early.
Scenario 2. He trades with Kiko, kiko hurts him, and Carl reverts to the tactics that won him the first fight..hit and run, wear kiko out for late stoppage or points win

(Let's not even think about scenario 3!!!!.....)

If Carl does elect to stand and trade with Kiko right from the start he will have to improve 2 things from the first fight - his guard -and his jab. If he is going to move around less he will have to tighten up his guard a lot. Also a really stiff accurate ramrod jab is essential for Carl this time around.

Maybe is not a good idea for Carl to stand and trade with Kiko but... it would be a great show :)

Carl is far better boxer than Kiko. I expect the strategy would be to stick and move and maybe stand more on the middle rds, but I don't expect Carl to press the action from the start.

Maybe it could be an option because it is sure that Kiko does not expect this too.

Of course the "stick and move" would be my preferred strategy, Txomo. It has been proven to work.

The thing is, from what Im hearing and seeing, it seems to me 3 things may operate to encourage Carl to slug it out from early on.

    1. A strong vibe is coming to me that Camp Carl feel he worked a lot harder than he had to first time round. Showed Kiko too much respect.

    2. Carl himself may have got a bit intoxicated with his own power in recent fights - several 1-punch stoppages to head and body can do that.

    3. The global audience: pressure to 'make a statement' around the boxing world.

These factors may cause Carl to go for a spectacular blast-out, rather than a more prolonged tactical victory - but thats just my opinion. :thumbsup

Lencorestside IMO when something works it is better to not change it. You can allways improve little things, learn something from the first fight and fix it or exploit it... but IMO would be and error to stand and trade with Kiko.

Kiko is a tough, determined guy with heavy hands. Why to stand and trade if you can beat him just countering from the outside? To make an statement?

Who knows... maybe you are right and Carl goes for the kill but... I think he will stick to the plan. He went on attack against Cazares, Parodi and Molitor because they did not have enough power to hurt him but it is not the case.

I completely agree with you. :good
I was just outlining some reasons why Carl may well change his approach this time. As we both have said "Why fix it if it aint broke"? Why change a proven winning approach?
But it just might happen, for the 3 reasons I gave above.

Also Carl may just feel that HE is bigger, stronger, tougher, more determined man and an even harder hitter than Kiko. Carl may just go to k.o. Kiko right from the start....:p

Frampie stops him again. Maybe sooner this time around, but it will still be a tough battle for him.

Frampton is the first Brit I actually expect to make big waves in years (it took until the Bute fight before I really became a Froch believer).

Not wishing to nit-pick with you Rob, but you must realise that Frampton is from Brlfast in Northern Ireland. Thats on the island of Ireland - not Britain.
He not a "Brit", any more than David Lemieux is a "Yank".

Frampton is British by passport but whether he considers himself to be British, or just Irish or both is a completely different matter
