How much would a loss hurt Floyd's legacy?

    Let's say Maidana lands a haymaker, and knocks Floyd out. How much would this loss affect his legacy?

    a great deal actually, a lot of his reputation is built around never been beaten, if he was to lose to IMO a 2nd rate fighter than people would start re-evaulating his whole career and start highlighting guys that he hasn't fought

    Nothing at all hes 37 years old and has been slipping for a while. Maidana gets almost 0 credit. Similar to when Pernell lost to Tito. Means Jack now.

    A great amount of his legacy is based on that protected 0. He's known as a cherrypicker and coward for good reason. Once he loses this 0, it would hurt his legacy significantly

    They do that now anyway.. You can't say he wasn't great and the best of his time from a loss in his last few fights.. His legacy was set for years.. It can never get worse.. Him losing his last 3 fights only hurts his pride and nothing else.. The world would remember the real Floyd and not the 37+ year old man who fought too long...

    it will be worse if he loses,

    he is also not the best of his time there a a few other fighters who have as much of a claim to that as he does(one of which he hasnt fought) which hurts both there legacys

    Yes, if you compare his Marquez fight with his Guerrero fight. You can see that it's no longer there.

    He's definitely still good enough to rule the sport, but he's nowhere near his prime.

    That Mayweather who fought in the Marquez fight would have made Maidana **** his pants.. :deal

    Maidana would have landed NOTHING, NOTHING!!

    It would take a hit, not much though. Those who say that a loss wouldn't change in how we look at his carrer when it's all said and done are plain wrong.

    He didn't drag anyone, Marquez challenged Mayweather. :deal

    Did Ray "DRAG" Duran up 2 divisions? :deal

    Marquez challenged May, May destroyed him, end of story.

    Fact: Marquez wants none of Mayweather, NONE!

    He even stated that they're better off going their own separate ways. He knows Mayweather would embarrass him again. :deal
