I have no doubt in my own mind he was on the juice as were and (as are now days) most heavyweights... steroids were not new in the 70s yet alone the middle 80s... Frank Bruno anyone?

At his best he was molded into one of the most dangerous heavyweights of all time no PED can give you what he had ..

I think he was when he was trained by Roach in his latter career

Whoever dont think a fighter that admitted cam into the ring souped up on coke, wouldn't take roids........I find it weird Tyson asked Holyfield for roid testing, either Tyson was dabbling and knew the wonders it worked or he openly knew Evan was a roider...........

Tyson is smart enough not to admit usage though......

Tyson was trained by roach at one time though, and thats when his body looked most abnormal and he boasted he only trained like a week or 2...............

    good post.

U know when someone knows what theyre talking bout cos the words juice n roids aren't used.

Hormone is use inextricably linked to boxing n while the boxing knowledge on her is epic, the use of PED's is shamefully poor generally.

    Thanks man!

Interestingly I had a friend at university who used to be an amateur triathlete, used to do Hawai Iron Man every year etc. He was telling me that PED use even amongst amateur triathletes was rife, from amphetamines to EPO. Just shows that PED use is rife in pretty much all sports at all levels.

Do you even like boxing? Tyson transcended boxing, he brought it so many fans to the sport.

probably went off them you mean, and off them in prison too? - it would help explain the dramatic slump.

The answer to this question is already on this board. Just search for BigCat's posts. A credible poster.

Sure. But that doesn't change the fact that Tyson lost at elite level. He couldn't beat the likes of Lewis or Holyfield back then. Not sure how he would fight if Cus would live longer and he didn't become an cocaine addict. Otherwise, he's the guy who looked good with 20.

    Fo' sho'.

But he was far from the only one using them, of course. Anyway Tyson, along with Holyfield ( or rather Evan Field), is almost a textbook example for being on gear.

And their two fights are awesome to watch, two short compact bodybuilders trying to punch their heads off.

Artificial, but awesome, one of the best hw fights EVER.
