    The only reason he wasn't banned for life or worse, is because Capetillo took the blame for everything, He somehow convinced the commission that Cheato had no idea what he was doing while wrapping his hands. Margarito was wrong, yes, definitely, as far as it being an advantage, well, let's just say that his record and performance since getting caught speaks for itself.

    Well he was irreparably injured by Pacquiao his first real fight back, so that's exaggerating to prove your point isn't it.
    Pacquiao was laid up for weeks by his own admission after Margarito's body shots, not padded variety.

    Margarito had a lot of suspect occurrences before he was caught cheating...

    -permanently blinded a sparring partner
    -busted Lujan's ear open in a very odd way, not sure I've seen that ever before in boxing
    -turned Cotto's face into smashed hamburger meat like never before or since

    ...and then caught inserting an altered gauze pad into his gloves.

    The fact that he was given the right to fight again is an absolute joke. Money makes the world turn, unfortunately.

    I would hope not but by no means would I be surprised.

    You just rarely hear of things like this happening ever...

    ...and then he gets caught inserting an illegal pad into his glove.

    How am I exaggerating? It's simple, he can't win without the pads, he might have hurt Manny as you say, but hell, the man still has two fists and after twelve rounds it would only be expected that the much smaller man would be hurt. Even more to that case, Manny was so hurt that he still finished twelve rounds without ever being in trouble in any round, just give it up, it's not justifiable nor is it deniable that he was caught trying to load his gloves, which in turn taints and puts a question mark next to every fight before that moment.

    Cotto's face was smashed by Pac too.

    Margarito was given a right to fight again, cause he was bribed.

    He "threw the fight" with Pac and gave Pac a gift win in a FIXED FIGHT in exchange for getting his license back and a big extra payday "under the table".

    You are exaggerating by saying his performances after he got caught speak for themselves, Manny horribly injured his eye, Cotto, exploited the injury and boxed a little more intelligently the second time. It wasn't like Tony was smashing guys to pieces in the first round before, i.e. Clottey and Williams fights. If he hadn't had his eye socket broken, that's a pretty bad injury who knows what he could still be accomplishing.

    Also he didn't land to Manny's body very much, so the incredibly limited body shot contact that he made still hurt Manny that bad.

    Ok you don't think Tony Margarito is HOF worthy because he was SUSPECTED of attempting to load his gloves huh??? NOW
    What is your opinion on Roy Jones jr, Shane Mosely, Evander Holyfield
    , Vitali Klitschko, James Toney etc being inducted in the HOF???
    All these people are PROVEN steroid abusers noy Suspected but PROVEN.
    Are they not the real cheaters????

    This thread is not about Jones, Mosley, Holyfield, Vitali, or Toney.

    This thread is about Margarito.

    Even if Margarito was never found out as a cheater, his accomplishments still do not warrant HOF entry, or even consideration really.

    His a World Champion at 147lbs. for many years and KO'd Miguel Cotto, Sergio Martinez, Kermit Cintron, etc.

    He scared and forced Floyd into temporary retirement.

    Thats HOF material.
