IF Maidana DEFEATS Mayweather Will That Be A Buster Douglas Moment?

He should of had a draw the first time at least.

First and foremost, Pac is the ATG of the last decade, and its not even close.:yep

Second, it would not be a Buster Douglass moment as Maidana has already fought and beat Mayweather, but got jobbed of course.:tired

Third, it would be a wonderful thing for boxing. Start getting rid of the illiterate gansta trash like floyd and his disciples and replace them with real professionals and decent people like the GGGs.:happy

 

Not sure if Maidana will "beat" Mayweather Jr the second time coming but...

Just by watching their first match up, Maidana's style just seems to be all sorts of frustration and awkwardness for Mayweather Jr.

Putting pressure and frustration on Floyd is one thing though... but
to do it for a full twelve rounds without gassing.. that is another thing.

If he starts to gas out..
Then Maidana needs to seriously STUN Mayweather Jr with solid punches throughout the fight.

And by watching Maidana's fights, I truly feel he IS a power puncher.

Of course now that he is forced to wear pillow gloves again, instead of his preferred gloves of choice.. I am not sure if we will see a K.O of Mayweather Jr.

In the end who know's though. Maidana has had more than a bit of time to train in those silly cushy cute pillow gloves.

Perhaps (just maybe) he will pull a mini B. Douglas/Tyson Tokyo style o O ???

^ Even if not a brutal Douglas style K.O... It would still be an amazing feat if Maidana simply knocks down Mayweather Jr and force his hands/butt onto the canvass......

Maybe before the first fight, but not now. And the fact that Mayweather is 37 and approaching the end of his career makes it less of an upset, regardless of the weaknesses the first fight revealed.

Tyson was in the prime of his career and considered unbeatable, not 37 and beginning to show some signs of decline.

 

Not too much of a bigger of a deal than when RJJ lost to Tarver IMO.

 

Wouldn't be as shocking as Tyson/Douglas, but on par with Tarver/jones.

Older ATG's who seem invincible, with more or less of Father Time catching up with them.

Tyson was considered unvincible and untouchable by the hype he had around. You had to live that to get the feeling.

And Douglas was a 40-1 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) bet underdog.

While Gheyd, he has already a loss from Castillo, plus he avoided all the best boxers. And he wins only fouling, running, holding, and shileding up with a terrified expression.

Not even close.

In fact, either my darling GF or 19 YO daughter got their hands on PC whilst I'd left the post unsubmitted following going up to get my little boy back to bed a coupla hours earlier.

This is why it degenerates into utter weirdness after the word 'era' (not that I'm not fully capable of making some pretty strange posts of my own, but I like to hope mine usually have a little more purpose).

The tyson upset was a bigger one since he was in his prime back then. However Floyd hasn't really lost much and If he looses it will be one of the biggest upsets ever.

Even though he's aproaching 40.

 

The Tyson fight was thought to be such a foregone conclusion that many didn't even bother to watch it.
