Ward already dominated this club-fighter once..it wasnt that close.

and LOL at Ward going to the UK..Froch needs to come to the USA to fight the best.

Froch is becoming little more than a domestic champ fighting the groves and degales of the island.
When's he ready to leave that little rock he come and get in Vegas or NYC again.

Whats crazy is that 2 judges had it 115-113 Ward, had Froch maybe just attacked a little more or stepped on the gas a bit more in one other round he may very well have kept his belt that night

I think Froch was generally surprised by how Ward was able to beat him inside. I think Froch expected him to just box and move but Ward came forward fought inside and clinched and used his strength on Froch as well. Ward beach Carl in close, at mid range and at a distance.

Froch had some moments of success and finished better but he didnt really have Ward in any real danger. Consider the layoff and a few adjustments and maybe Froch can still hang with Ward in a rematch

then again Ward was also hurt in the first fight, could be even more dominant in a rematch, Froch also looked sub par in the first Groves fight

Whatever else he may be, Ward is a mentally strong fighter and traveling to the U.K would not affect him mentally in my opinion. It probably would affect the judges and the ref, but Froch would be unlikely to land enough to make the fight debatable in any case.

As for Ward's "dirty" tactics, you might have a case with some of his fights, but the Froch fight was fairly clean on Ward's part. It was Froch that had the more egregious fouls in the matchup, with his best punch on Ward coming after the bell and some clear frustration rabbit punching.

This is not to say that Froch has no chance, but the most likely outcome is a repeat of the first fight. I don't think the fight's going to happen even if Ward wanted it though, because as you indicated Ward is now a great borderline irrelevant talent to Froch. The only motivation for Froch would be to try and avenge his defeat, which is a strong motivation to be sure, but probably not enough to beat out say, a fight with Chavez Jr or a third matchup with Kessler which would be a lot bigger money fights.

I think Froch is a greater fighter than Ward and has the better resume to prove it BUT he loses h2h if not every time almost every time. Kinda how Calzaghe beats Hopkins almost every time but Hopkins is the greater fighter. For those on hear b*tching about Froch fighting RANKED contenders at least he is doing that. Who is Ward fighting? Ward hasn't fought a ranked SMW since Froch and should be stripped. And no they wouldn't fight in the U.S as the draw is usually the Aside. Froch can sellout stadiums Ward can't sell out his backyard. Hopefully Ward comes back though and makes some noise I am more pissed he didn't go on to do anything great after the Super six as he is a real American talent unlike a lot of the pretenders. I think more fans need to be objective and less fanboy.

You also said Brook had no chance against Porter, NONE.:lol:

Let's see how Ward does away from the US, with random drug testing.

I'd say Froch has improved since then while ward has merely mothballed, regressed if anything. A fight in jolly old UK would be quite interesting. I though Froch adjusted a bit and came on late in the fight, but who knows. It certainly wasn't a 118-110 fight.

    11 rounds to 1

He stomped Froch, everyone knows that.

Don't talk to me about predictions when you've made your share of **** ones bud.

Everyone knows Ward is far better than Froch. :thumbsup

lets just see ward become active again. i don't care who he fights, but he needs to fight at least thrice a year.

I'm a big Froch fan but I agree with this. It's just one of those style match ups that will always heavily favour one side.

This is boxing though and anything can happen, and I guess if they were to fight right now Wards inactivity could benefit Carl. Can't see it making THAT much of a difference but who knows

Very true. Froch is definitely in my top 3 favourite active fighters, and he has had many exciting fights, but even as early as Kessler 2 I thought he started looking faded.

I watched his rematch with Kessler live with my friends who are also Froch fans, and despite me being glad that Froch was winning the fight, I couldn't get over how much slower he looked. Not that he was ever Ali with the handspeed but his jabs also looked really slow and inaccurate and I couldn't quite understand how the commentators were getting so hard every time he threw one.

Really not too sure where I want him to go at this stage in his career. But it wouldn't be towards a fight with Ward.
