When have we seen Hopkins against a decent SMW fighting at SMW?
What weight division would they all be fighting in? SMW or LHW?

Hopkins seems to not do as well against fast two fisted fighters his own size and I actually think Dirrell would be the one to cause Hopkins problems if Dirrell stays focused, but I also think if Dirrell doesnt stay focused and starts complaining and moaning to the ref if Hopkins upsets him in clinches he could also lose and I would expect Hopkins to upset Dirrell and use tactics that could unsettle Dirrell.
I would favour Hopkins against all of the S6 fighters.

whereas in his 30s Hopkins would have schooled the super six lot except perhaps Ward.

Its obvious to anyone except a blind brain damaged fanatic fool that if you operate at the highest level at LHW and MW then you will be able to operate at the highest level at SMW>

Yea that's why Hopkins skipped SMW and went for LHW the weaker division of the 2. He could of went to 168 and fought Calzaghe, Lacy ( who was perceived to be a monster) and Kessler who looked good also. I think Hopkins is a great fighter but he picks his fights very carefully. After he moved up to LHW Hopkins being a big name could of fought in the Super 6 if he wanted too but the talent and fighters in the division were way too rich. He didn't want any of them and probably would have lost to half of them. He also lost to Jermain Taylor and obviously didn't want to fight him again. My bigger question was when was Hopkins prime? When he fought the smaller Tito, Robert Allen like 3 times, overblown Dela Hoya, Joppy? Who out of the Super 6 would have a hard time with any of his MW run besides Jermain Taylor or RJJ who he has losses to. Or how about when he beat blown up Winky Wright, Tarver, loss to Calzaghe, and then beat Pavlik? Hopkins is a great fighter but acting like the MW version is going to blow out the Super 6 is ridiculous.

how do you know this is why he went to LHW?

Can you read Hopkins mind? NO then stfu about things you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about.

My guess would be that Hopkins saw no value in a fledgling division's titles which didn't exist when he was an adult. SMW was nothing to him, and added less to his legacy than the more universally recognised LHW division.
But if you want the truth you go and ask Hopkins. Don't speculate and pretend your speculation is the truth.

If a light cruiserweight division emerged tomorrow, I certainly would show no interest in it and nor would you. SO don't lie to yourself that Hopkins would naturally think smw was particularly valuable.

don't make me laugh, Mr Alt, Hopkins would school fighters like Lacy even at age 50. And you KNOW it so well.Hell your momma even knew it before you were conceived.

Kessler had achieved nothing at MW, Hopkns own division. Why bother with someone who couldn't handle your own division but accomplished more in a weaker one?

you are weighing up the attributes of a 40something! are you stupid? Of course in his 40s he doesn't want the cream of the crop all the time. Are you saying hes doing a bad job of things? ARE YOU?
Think before you write such drivel.

ANd in his 30s he was defending the freaking unifed world title. if you don't think that is a high enough level then maybe you should go invent an Intergalactic title - that still wouldn't be enough for you though would it?

I have already told you VERY seriously why I think Hopkins shouldn't value a fight with Kessler, who did nothing at MW, nor value the smw division, a new division of little worth to him just as a light cruiser division invented tommorrow would have little worth to me and you.

don't ask me to tell you anything more than I already said, because you arent getting away with putting word in my mouth, matey.

If it is saying a 40something Hopkins then I apologise, but I think its a stupid thread that would pitch a faded Hopkins over the prime versions of the super 6ers. For me the words 'WOULD HAVE" indicate a firmly past tense - whether they mean prime Hopkins or Hopkins during the tournament's time is not made clear.

Did you? I don't remember discussing this with you before, matey - might mistake me for someone else? Apart for that i guess i'd follow the division with the most talent no matter how new or old it was, but i get your point.

It is quite a stupid thread which is why i felt i had to disagree. I would favor a prime Hopkins over all of the Super 6'ers too.

true, Prime Hop would lock them down in ugly spoilfests. Old Hopkins is in danger of gassing out and thus being edged out against the fittest most active super6ers, touch and go.

my apologies, thought you were an alt in my last post.

How do you know that division meant nothing to Hopkins? YOU DONT KNOW B*TCH! Why would he want to fight the champ of that division if it meant
nothing? IF IT MEANT NOTHInG HE WOULDNT BOTHER FIGHTING THE CHAMP AS BEATING SAID CHAMP WOULD OF MEANT NOTHING! But he loss anyway to a champ from that division right? Stop talking you don't know **** about nothing!

So your obviously saying it's ok to stay in a weak division and then when you get older avoid the cream of the crop of boxing but call yourself a legend while not fighting the best around anymore? STFU

He has some of his best wins in his 40s I guess that says a lot about his Unified MW run doesn't it? Go away you bias tool.

you are saying it, so you are telling youerself to STFU.

which saves me replying to that bit.

his best wins were in his prime.

his recent wins are best considering his age, not considering his prime. WHy are you being biased? and why are you calling someone else biased in a manner that could only be carried out if you were yourself being biased?

Where have I said that I know what he thinks?

I am just speculating - and I made that 100% clear at the time in contrast to the "know what he thinks" attitude of others.

So why have you pulled me up for other peoples failures?

    Seems you just failed again,.
