We're losing fighters to retirement at an alarming rate...first "irish" Andre Ward...now Paul McCloskey... Then again, since many regarded those guys as negative spoilers.....
True. My post was actually a poke at Ward, who has been a very disappointing "world champion" (well a part-time one anyway). Dudey was almost unhittable even at European level and certainly made Amir Khan look very ordinary. I believe he has a prosperous family business outside of boxing? If he'd been 'hungrier' maybe......
McGuigan beeing a bit scabby on the undercard only 6 figts, think he could of got a few lads a couple of 4 rders even the likes of Fryers, Gallagher and McCarthy.
There's seven 'home' fights and three Maravilla boxers supposed to be on the card, bringing it to 10 overall.
We're back to the old story that "Boxing is a business", Moorser. Less wages = more money/profit. In fairness they probably had to pay Kiko an awful lot to get him over here.
They are loosing money on this show from what i hear. Between bringing Kiko over and building an arena it's cost a bloody fortune. TBH i'll leave Barry off with the undercard on this, i'm just glad and admire the investment he's putting in to make this fight happen. Gutted i can't be there i'd say the atmosphere will be something special.
I know mate especially since i was at the last 3! I'm actually so gutted like if he wins fair enough you can go to the defenses and have an amazing atmosphere but i'v followed Carl for a long time now and to not be their when he potentially wins his first world title sucks.
