I respect being lineal and accruing title defenses but just like Joe( who wasn't lineal for awhile but had longevity) they should of tested themselves more instead of racking up defenses against cans. And yes I consider Hopkins greater than Joe. Though Joe better H2H with better hands in his prime.To say he schools the Super Six is ridiculous when while he fought at MW he fought mostly cans and tried to gain more recognition on fighting some smaller fighters. I don't like it when fighters try to make names on smaller fighters like GGG calling out Mayweather it is ridiculous. I hold it in high regard when Hopkins fought Tarver and it would of been great to get a Hopkins who took risks earlier like he is fighting Kovalev instead dominating a weak division.

Hopkins clearly doesn't disregard the SMW division or he wouldn't regard it's champ as a worthy fighter.

- hopkins' greatest win is felix trinidad
- had hopkins got the decision vs calzaghe, it would not be considered his best win.
- whilst hopkins is a tradionalist and a purist, which may lead some to think he does not value the SMW division, his primary goals are enhancing his legacy and making money.
- hopkins' 2 best performances were whilst he was in his 30s

One fighter doesn't define a division, much as Kessler's inability to land a title shot at MW but immediately get one at SMW doesn't reflect on the whole division.
