I don't know why people pay so much attention to what Mayweather says. He constantly changes his mind. I doubt he is serious about Pacquiao having to sign with TMT. If he is, then he's out of his mind.

 

It sucks that Mayweather is being difficult and flexing his power as the top draw in this way but drug testing became an issuse because Pacquiao made it one, money came up when someone said we'll take less only to say 50/50 or no fight a week later, Promoter thing came up when someone was ignoring phone calls asking why are they trying to contact me.

I think up until the Marquez KO Mayweather was interested in making the fight since Pacs loss that air of invincibility amd his stock has dropped the willingness to compromise has left.

 

Floyd might not even make my top 10 fighters who I've seen in my lifetime, never mind the best ever.

Ali, Duran, RJJ, SRL, Hearns, Whitaker, Hagler, Monzon, Holmes, Spinks, JCC, Hopkins, then maybe Floyd/Pac

And H2H I think he'd loose to both a prime SSM and a prime ODH and perhaps to a prime Trinidad.

And I didn't include SRR because he was around before I was born, but to think that Floyd could hang with him means you really don't know the sport at all.

 

Hagler and Hearns have a punchers chance with Mayweather?? Floyd isn't overly keen on fighting Pacquiao ffs..Floyd would have took up garbage collecting rather then fight Hagler or Hearns!!

Prime Ray Leonard boxes rings round Floyd and most probably stops him. SRR would not have went the distance with Mayweather...he would have ko'd him within 8 (if SRR was having an off day).

Pernell Whitaker was at least as skillful a defensive fighter than Floyd (maybe even more so).

Prime Duran destroys Floyd at LW! His style was all wrong for Mayweather (who's low output and lack of power would have made him a dream opponent for Roberto). The Animal would have simply ran through Floyd.

The formula for beating Mayweather is simple: Persistent, educated pressure, as a well past prime ODLH showed in pushing Floyd mighty close in their fight. Hell even Maidana was competitive against Floyd and Maidana is distinctly second rate.

I respect Mayweather as a boxer! He is hugely talented, I enjoy watching him fight, he has shown brilliance on more than one occasion, and I am a fan of his, but the obvious flaws in his style ensure that he is not even a top 30 p4p ATG and anyone who considers otherwise really does needs to learn more about who actually participated in the sport.

Floyd's desire to protect his "0" will come back to haunt him...just as it has Calzaghe!!

In Fifty years time, Floyd may only be remembered for NOT fighting Pacquiao (and vice versa).

Floyd and Manny were clearly the top 2 p4p figthers of the previous decade, they fought in the same weight class and against several common opponents.....yet they never fought each other!! What a way to blemish your legacy!!

Schaefer trying to get in touch with Arum. Arum claiming he don't know who represents Floyd. Floyd going to jail but postpones enough to still be available to fight. Arum wanna build a stadium. Arum thinks Manny's cut won't heal in 6 months for Floyd fight but changes tune for a JMM fight. Arum talking about bull**** investors wanting to get involved. And blah blah blah.

Yeah, you can thank Arum for this one. Eventually someone was going to get fed up with dealing with the other.

 

Honestly I'm less of a Floyd fan now because of stupid posts like Southpaws than I would be if they just shut the **** up and keep things real.

Nonsensical posts/threads about "TBE" (what a ****ing joke) almost make me want a guy who I have admired as a boxer his entire career to get KTFO, just to shut them up!!!

 

It's different because the history between Mayweather and Pacquiao clearly suggests that Mayweather is continuing to play mind games and attempt to stomp on Pacquiao in any way possible. From the very start Mayweather has been demanding ridiculous things while completely dismissing Pacquiao's similar position the sport. From blood tests to a lesser split to take $40 million while I was all the rest including 100% of the PPV earnings(never EVER has this been demanded previously in the sport's history) to leaving his promotion to joining TMT to beating Marquez and Bradley...etc

Looking at Mayweather's demands, one has to wonder if he's going into this as a fight or an execution.

He wasn't with top rank at first. He had to sign with top rank and beat Casamayor to get the first Pac fight. The he had to re-sign or extend his contract to get the rematch. Shady as hell but promoters are dcks...Floyd should fit right in lol!!
