Why is Mayweather comparing his undefeated record against Ali's losses against top flight competition in a time when guys fought much more frequently against much sterner opposition when rules were far less unforgiving? Some guys don't know when they're well off

I think Khan would win, 8-4/9-3. I think Chris' size and style may cause Khan problems but as you say lack of punch power would be his downfall.

To be fair I think this fight may of come a little too soon for Algieri but he is one to watch for the future. Khan whilst a very good fighter has been selling himself short as of late, whilst holding out for the Mayweather fight which in all honesty he doesn't deserve.

Mayweather himself recently posted a picture on his instagram(or Facebook?) account with a picture of him speaking on the phone captioned "Take $40 million!". He also made it publicly clear numerous times that he DID in fact demand 100% of the PPV earnings with only a fixed $40 million payment to Pacquiao.

Pacquiao isn't known to publicly trash talk or call out anyone. That's just his personality and he doesn't like to play gimmicks either. Him being like that as a person doesn't mean he's "crawling into a rock" by any means. He has always been like that and didn't have problems making fights with the likes of DLH, Hatton, Marquez x4, Baradley x2, Clottey, Cotto, Concreto, Mosley, Ledwaba, Barrera x2, Larios, Morales x3 and many more. It's only Mayweather who has been a total pain to negotiate with.

Hard to easily flatten fighters when you're constantly fighting top notch opposition. Unlike Khan, most of Pacquiao's recent opponents have proven punch resistance. A big step up?, are you for real?. A big step up based on what?, beating Collazo and Diaz(over a year ago)?. Khan hasn't been active much because his team are carefully awaiting a big payday, they know that if he stays active he could get sparked off a big payday permanently.

Now regarding Khan's recent nonsensical(yet typical) Pacquiao call-outs on twitter, as soon as he barked, Arum responded publicly with over 7 highly rated, legitimate and respected websites publishing it. Arum openly claimed that Khan hasn't sent a single person to negotiate the fight. Right after that response Khan went on to completely ignore it like it never happened only to respond to comments regarding his recent fight with teenagers in the street. When Arum officially announced Pacquiao vs Algieri he came out barking on twitter. If you can't see that this is a typical move from Khan when he calls out fighters he knows he will never fight(or fight again) then you need to follow him closely if you're a true fan of his.

...Which is why I said Ali was greater.
It must be remembered too though, that being a heavyweight automatically gives a fighter bonus points when it comes to popularity and appeal. Roberto Duran was a better fighter than Ali in the 70's, maybe Monzon too, but everyone was tallking about Ali.
If Muhammad was a lightweight, would the significance of his wins over Frazier, Liston and Foreman be viewed in the same light?

Yes Ali fought the best but he fought an awful lot of questionable (I mean highly questionable) opposition as well. If he were active today, fighting the likes of the Coopmans, the Wepners and the Evangalistas, he'd catch a lot of heat for it on this very board.

I'm certainly not blind to Floyd's shortcomings, but he is an excellent fighter and frankly has displayed superior dominance over his opponents than Ali did. If you look at the overall quality of their respective opposition, is the difference really that great?

Ali has something that Floyd currently does not, and that is the benefit of being long retired. Mayweather's stock is likely to rise once we have the chance to look at his career in 10 years time, and assess it properly.

Ali is unquestionably great. No doubt about it. However, was what Mayweather said really that far off the mark?

If Manny Pacquiao wants to have a big PPV outside of Floyd then Khan is it.... tell Arum and Pacquiao to stop ducking and make the fight!! Or is it something like Bob won't put Manny in the ring with anybody whose not with Top Rank? And did you just call Brandon Rios and Chris Algieri top opposition?

I look at things from both sides and I have come to the conclusion that Team Pacquiao ducked the fight ltwice.....I see no problem with 50/50 and a 2 week cutoff and considering Pac only gets 7 million guarantees, I see no problem with an initial offer of 40 million either, if Pac wants more then negotiate, dont just hang up the phone like a b-tch!! Every fighter in boxing wants to fight Floyd what makes Pac think he is above any demand the top draw in the sport makes, I don't find any demand Floyd asked of Pac absurd, normal **** that any fighter who wanted the fight would accept!!

Because Top rank and Golden Boy are reputable promotional outfit. Who are these tmt clowns? they are new to the scene at are yet to prove themselves. They are a bunch of shady slicks. They have attempted to sabotage Pacquiao's career first and foremost. Who in their right mind would want to work with someone who tried to ****k you up and make demands after demands.Who is to say they will be fair to PACQUIAO? I mean TMT is a bunch of ******ed pro Mayweather brand. So I don't think Pacquiao should be forced in that situation where he is FORCE to use the pro Mayweather USADA drug test and to wear 10 ounce non punchers gloves in the ring. In terms of MONEY Floyd is farking hypocrite if he complains about Arum taking Pacquiao's money who is to say this imbecile with a grade 5 reading ability and greedy as FARK wont take a chunk of Pacquiao's pie? TMT has always had malicious intent against Manny Dapidran Pacquiao, IMO and therefore should not and will not sign with TMT.

Ali is not dyslexic You must have a very vivid imagination& are a stranger to the truth
The TV show refer to was actually The Michael Parkinson Show. Parkinson thought he was being clever as the rumour was Ali couldn't read.
Parkinson had the book of Ali's poems & with a smirk on his face Parkinson said " Would you read us a couple Muhammad"? Ali scowled stood up & started undoing his tux jacket. Parkinson freaked he thought Ali was going to hit him I think he messed his pants. Then Ali grinned & said " Are we even now Mr Parkinson "? They were friends ever since
