I don't like Quillan, I wanted Wright to knock him out, wanted Rosado to do the same.

I'm just saying I don't believe a fighter deserves criticism for forsaking his belt in terms of bigger fights.

Ok maybe I don't. Who is ranked higher by independent ranking bodies?

Not for that money. Both are worth nothing for legacy.

Right now the only "legacy" fights, or fights possibly (and I say possibly, because its possible K2 would have paid that to get WBO belt) paying close to 1.4m are Cotto and Golovkin. Not Golovkin anymore without WBO belt though.

Jacobs has a good story but hasnt done anything , and is a bottom tier undercard fighter still. He is not someone you give up a PPV B-side payday to pursue...

Also, Quillin has gone on record post WBA-regular that Jacobs had not "earned" a shot at him yet anyhow. So if its a "legacy" fight vs Jacobs, thats a huge 180 degree turn on Quillin's part.

There are no bigger fights at 160 for Quillin than headlining Barclays for 1.4m

Legacy is a culmination of a career.

Beating higher ranked fighters and more name fighters leads to that legacy.

It might be a 180 degree turn but I would still rate a Jacobs win over a Korobov win. Not that I favour Quillan in any of those two, but Jacobs is higher reward for similar risk.

    What are you on about?

Are fighters remember for what they got paid or for who they beat?

Jacobs and Korobov are same name value. Jacobs has lost his step up fights, the guys they have beaten are about the same level.

Jacobs has better name recognition in the NYC area, but from a sporting perspective they are about equal. Jacobs is a paper title holder, Korobov a mandatory #1 contender - equivalent rankings as well.

This has nothing to do with Quillin, it's Al Haymon trying to keep Jay-Z (who won the purse bid) out of the high levels of boxing. Just one multi-millionaire playing games with another. Qullin will fight Jacobs next, and whatever he makes, Haymon will make up the difference to $1.4m out of his own pocket.

    No they're not.

Pirog was hyped to **** cos he sparked danny.

Korobov doesn't have a single name victory to date. Not even a Jerrod Fletcher. Plus Quillan was a paper titlist anyways so that doesn't matter.

The point is Jacobs is higher ranked, has a belt, has a following and is a more recognisable name. Both Jacobs and Korobov beat Quillan imo but Jacobs has more prestige, not even debatable.

you can't even figure out his name is spelled QUILLIN despite how many times we've typed it. maybe the middleweight situation is just too complicated for you.

It's cos I'm not that bothered about him tbh, I haven't even seen many of his fights, wonky was the first. It's just that usually a man giving up his belt and saying he wants bigger fights is rewarded. I'm confused as to why it's different for the man who's name I can't spell.
