Akira is a warrior. Anybody who says otherwise is banished from boxing.

I'm going to open a can of worms here but Gonzalez's resume is actually miles ahead of Golovkin's - but of course nobody follows these lighter divisions so nobody is even aware of that.

Wow, that was a nice fight. It had an air of inevitability from the third round knockdown in my opinion, but Yaegashi made it with his heart and that ninth round, out-on-his-shield effort.

Props to both men. Gonzalez was precise and clinical, never looked flustered. Yaegashi competed despite a relative power deficiency and a lack of head movement.

    40-0 (34).

11-0 (7) in world title bouts.

Three division world champion. (2nd ever Nicaraguan to achieve this, after Alexis Arguello)

I think well over a dozen current/former titlists or top-5 ranked guys (when he fought them) beaten?

    ...all by age 27.

If anyone doesn't have Chocolatito very, very, very high in their list - as in, top five or even three - of the pound for pound best in boxing, they don't really know boxing.

Gonzalez had trouble with Yaegashis fast hands. I think, a slick guy like Amnat Ruenrueng would have a good chance to beat him. Yes, it was a great fight. But Yaegashi exposed some flaws from Chocolatito.
